I am a peanut eater, I like the newly harvest peanuts because its taste is sweet. But my mother is always saying that it is not good to eat too much peanuts because it can cause pimples. It is also the cause of arthritis. What can you say about eating peanuts?

Peanuts can only cause pimple flare ups if you have a reaction to them. They also do not cause arthritis. Peanuts are actually not a bad food choice. They do not have a lot of fat or calories. What you do have to watch for is if you buy them salted, honey roasted, or any other method that adds to the nuts.

It has caused pimple flare ups in mine so I don't really eat them often. I think it's just my body being allergic to a higher amount of peanuts ingested. I love peanuts, but because of my possible allergic reaction to it, I need to eat them in moderation.

That is what I feel when I eat legumes like peanuts, mongo beans and white beans. I love to eat raw peanuts since I was a kid, because I am now in my late 40's I feel pain in my joints. This pain is what the doctors says an arthritis due to eating too much legumes. Thank you for your share.

Yes, peanut is high in uric acid that causes arthritis that's why frequent eating of peanuts is not recommended to be eaten by old people. Peanut also is high in protein that is the brain's food. I don't think it can cause pimples. Because pimples or acne evolve because of blocked pores. But if peanut cause your skin to be oily then you will be prone to breakouts.

I also like eating peanuts, uolyram. But not that much as we all know too much of anything is not good. I always remember my mother told me it is the food for the brain. I know that peanut is rich in protein but it is also rich in fat. Maybe that is why your mother told you that it can cause pimples and arthritis as well.

I also like eating peanuts and i think i don't agree with your mother on this issue. I think peanuts is a king of very useful food. If you eat often, it can improve your memory. But that's when you eat some unripe peanuts, ripe also ok. But now in market, there're mang peanuts which are processed with other ingredients, some of them contans salt. In this way, it can taste sweeter. Thus,if it's this kind, i believe you'd better eat some but not too much.

Well I am sorry but I have tried it my self that after eating peanuts pimples are coming out of my face and it is very itchy. Maybe I should not eat much, just to satisfy my wants so I have to control the amount of peanuts I am going to eat and not every day. Thank you for sharing.

Arthritis, true. Pimples, myth. It cannot cause arthritis though but if you are have arthritis, it could trigger the pain when you eat legumes not only peanuts. So that includes mongo.

i am also fond of peanuts. i have heard a doctor on tv said that peanuts doesn't cause pimples, it is the oil used to cook the peanuts that causes it. but it is true that it is bad for people who have arthritis. peanuts are also good for the brain. i also heard that it is good to eat peanuts days before the exam. they said that peanuts stimulate the brain.
