Hi mylotters. I just recently read an article online about how hamburgers can destroy one's life. Almost everyone loves eating hamburgers and I think that it is okay since I do not see any pork fat. I usually don't eat pork or beef fat. But little did I know, that most restaurants actually use 70 percent beef fat in burgers. They just mix it with meet so you won't notice it. No wonder hamburgers taste so juicy and soft. I was utterly disappointed when I found out about this. What do you think about this?

Hamburger is not one cut of meat put through a meat grinder. It is different parts of the animal ground up and mixed together. This information can be found in many places. Apparently if you want better hamburger you should pick out a cut of meat and have the butcher grind it for you. Three years ago I read a somewhat nauseating report in the New York Times detailing some of the workings of slaughterhouses. It is appalling and what's worse it is as true today as 3 years ago. For anyone interested here's the link: www.nytimes.com/2009/10/04/health/04meat.html?pagewanted=all But I still can't resist a really good burger.

I love burgers so much lol I understand the disappointment you must have felt . Whatever we eat can be bad for us that is why we have to eat a balance meal . We can continue eating what we like just as long as we eat balance .

I think hamburgers are fast foods. All fast foods are not bad for health if you consume it too much, I think. My kids love hamburgers but they seldom eat it.

I also eat hamburger but not that often. As for me, too much of anything is not good. I have also read an article about this before. With the existence of fast food chains in just about anywhere and we can have our foods in an instant, people always come to these place more often. Although this is one proof of development, we should also consider the health risk associated with dining out especially on fast foods.

I do believe that hamburgers are really high in fats. When we intake such huge amount without proper diet, we can become obese and suffer from its complications like heart disease. Hamburgers are not only high in fats but also high in MSG or monosodium glutamate. It's a well-known taste enhancer but has significant negative effects to our kidney.

I eat my burger with chicken. Usually chicken filler baked or fried. I think it's healthier this way, but it's still junk food so it's not so heallthy! If you want to eat healthy you should avoid hamburgers and eat home cooked food which has less harmful ingredients and more vitamines .

In all honesty though, anything is bad if not taken in moderation. Most meats made from restaurants I've been have used poor quality meats.. I probably shouldn't even go into the hot dog. XD I still love burgers, but eating them often would make me nauseous.. Hope this gives a decent second opinion.
