This morning I saw my niece eating sweet foods I am afraid that she might get obese or worst get a diabetes in her early age. I talked to her and discussed about the possible things that might happened to her if she continues eating sweet foods so much. I know she just a little kid but she can understand and obey my words most the time. So i decided to put a slice of strawberry cheesecake in the table which is her favorite and asked my niece to look after my cake while I am cooking, and also told her not to touch the cake or else I will never teach her how to cook again. To be honest I am just tempting her and trying to know how far she can control herself in eating sweet foods. I know she really wants to take a small bite to the cake but she controled herself, instead she get some grapes and apple and eat it while watching the cake. I am very proud of her because i know she already understand what i am trying to say and she already knew how to follow rules.
Have a nice day!

She does not have to eliminate sweet food from her diet , just make sure she also eat balance nutritious meal . I love cake and I am so slim because I also keep myself fit and I eat healthy , she is not two young to learn proper nutrition .
Every kids love cake and sweets , it the care giver job to make sure that she also eat fruits and veggies .

I love cheesecakes, specially Blueberry cheesecake. But only few bakeshops sells this in our country and its very expensive. I haven't tried baking it, but I want to learn it maybe when I've got some time. Diabetes is very common to younger ages this days. That's why we should really monitor what we eat everyday.

Hi Bhebelen,
How old is your niece? And how many sweets does she eat?In my experience, when children are too young it is better not to have tempting sweet or greasy food around. If you don´t have potato chips or cakes and muffins, a small child will not learn to eat them. So maybe you should make a cake only for weekends so it´s a treat for everyone and she will learn quicker because grown ups are showing her how to eat well.

Hi marguicha, she is already 6 years old and she eat candies, chocolates and other sweet foods almost everyday. I want her to become healthy and eat more on fruits and vegetables which has natural sugar and easily to digest than eating candies and chocolates. Thank you for sharing!

I can see that she is a girl who can control herself. It's not easy to do that. I know many children will lose control especially when they see some nice food they like very much.Nomatter how many snacks their parents buy for them, they will eat all up. Self-control is the most important factor for a successful person.

Thats a nice way of testing emotional quotient.
Yes, you are right that an early you should teach your niece and other loved ones about health consciousness.
We are aware that there's so much health problem arises today due to unhealthy diet.
You are doing the right thing

That's great! Obese is a problem especially for girls. Search on the internet for alternatives for sugar or sweet foods and snacks. That would make her more happy :)
