Singing is such a popular hobby but for professionals, it could really be a lucrative career especially if you become a popular singer. Was there a time in your life when you dream of being a professional singer? Did you ever imagine yourself singing to a crowd or on tv and amazing your audience with your talent?

Well, I remember somebody said that to make this world a better place and a happier one, we need more ugly voices singing. Joking!
Seriously, I guess if one is not good in singing or even just moderate at it we should not be afraid to sing to the world because singing is a good way to express our feelings and emotions which is like a therapy for us which makes us feel better about ourselves.
I felt you could be a good singer but you are just shy to say it

Being a singer was my dream when i was abut the age of 6-11, i would always imagine myself singing in front of a large crowd while dancing to the tune. Although, not on a professional level, i share my singing online.

Thanks for sharing the link Sapphiremoon. I tried logging in using my facebook account but I still can't see your songs. I guess I needed to register an account there first.

Hi asliah,
Isn't it amazing we could almost do anything we want in our dreams?
It is a place where all the things we want could happen, but scary that our deepest fears could also be manifested in our dreams. LOL

When i was proabley 8 to 13 I wanted to be a singer but, i got realistic and realized it would never happen. For one i dont like to sing in front of many people and also, I am not that good. In my high school years i wrote songs a lot. Havent done that either in a while.

Wow, at a very young age you already dream of being a singer. I can imagine you like singing a lot when you were young and you are probably good with it :)
In my case, I had that desire when I was about 27 years old but just like you I find that it will not be my destiny. I even remember times when I sing in a concert with my brother who was a professional singer, and it was a thrilling as well as a scary experience for me as I sung two songs. I think I did quite good there because I did receive good responses from the big audience. I have also composed a lot of songs in my lifetime and two of them are taken by an actual recording studio...one sung by my brother and another by a popular comedian who made an album. I stopped making compositions for a long time too. I guess I should make some songs once in a while when I have time.

yes, singing is great and sometimes you desire to have an audience when you sing to appreciate your songs. The problem is when the audience doesn't like your performance, so you then have to sing whether they like it or not :)
I think being a professional singer is not an easy job and the most talented singers have the edge in that industry, including having a complete package like talent, looks and charisma. The ability to dance well while singing is another good advantage.

Yes I did, since I was competing inter-cities and regional contests since I was 9 but I stopped singing when I was 13. I still have the talent until now but I need to be practical. It's not that easy to enter the music industry but I do love singing in the crowd. I experienced the nerve racking performance in front of the audience. During my younger years like 4-6, I have been playing alone acting as a pop singer singing in an auditorium with a huge crowd cheering for me and then I do 8 songs for my imaginary audience as if they we're watching me and all the cameras and eyes were focused on me LOL. My dreams changed when I entered college. I wanted to be a business woman in the fashion industry than to sing professionally. Currently, I am still entertaining offers singing on weddings or occasions but not really as a pop star or a diva.

It's great you still find opportunities with your singing talent, Loisekatee. I wonder if your dream to be a business woman in the fashion industry was realized, was it? Anyway, I did feel the sensation of singing in a large audience in the past and it was exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I remember singing two consecutive songs in front of probably about two hundred or more people and the songs I sang are Original Pilipino composed songs entitled "Please Don't Take Your Love Away" and "Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin" both sung by Martin Nievera. I hope your imaginary concert continue to give you pleasure, and I hope your imaginary audience always applaud you to the max :D

Good luck to you, Badkid. What types of songs do you usually sing? Anyway, I admire your courage in singing to a crowd of people because I believe not so many people are able to do that. There are those who even have terrible nervousness when in front of the stage. What will happen to them if they face the tv camera?

I really want to become a professional singer. Singing is one of my favorite activities. I would love to have some voice lessons when i got free time. But sad to say i am very busy with schooling. I love singing with our karaoke at home. For now my family and friends are my audience.

I think a lot of professional singers have their family members as their audience, then their parents saw their potential and encourage their kids to join singing contest or sing in some events. And if their kid is really good and talented, some talent scout would discover them and would make them sign a contract to become a professional singer. I'm sure there are different stories how one becomes a professional singer, but I guess what I mention is one of those common ones.
