In the past several years, there has been talk of regulating certain types of foods in society--mainly, fast food. This is concerning fast food business serving a certain size of whatever food or drink. Starbucks in one prime example of this. When they wanted to expand the ounces of drinks, some folks went wild...and they only decided to have iced teas and coffees in trenta sizes.
Should we have food regulations concerning portion size when it comes to restaurants? Do you think that these regulations infringe upon consumers rights to eat whatever they want? Is it the government or anyone else business to mandate that individuals not purchase certain size foods and drinks?

for sure it needs to be regulated since all the items cant be consumed in equal proportions by the customer.so i think they must make it a mandatory step to limit some foods

Hi,
You are right. There should be some regulations concerning fast foods. But I think there is no need of controlling or regulating the size but it's contents or ingredients. some ingredients of fast food are harmful to health. There should be regulation of those fast food ingredients.

I don't think they should be regulated in terms of the size, as a business person, that's the only means for one to be able to cover expenses and stuff. I think fastfood restaurants are regulated by competition. If there's a lot of competition around, they cannot afford to put in higher prices else they would lose customers.
I think it's enough that cleanliness and hygiene is always checked and that customers have the right as to what size and portions they want to avail.
Have a great mylot experience ahead!
