In India, the government had made the rule that only 5 sms would be sent per day. My question is that had this rule affected your daily life with cell phones. For me this rule did not have any effect as I cannot find my time in busy schedule to send sms to my busy friends.

Hello
That rule is gone already.. So I think now there is no such rule and restriction on SMS per day.. I rarely do any sms from my phone, I mostly use my phone for Internet purpose... So that rule hadn't affected me at all.. I mean 5 SMS on single day is like quite more for me.. But yes some people used to do many sms in single day. But as this rule is no more now there is no problem like that to anyone.

I'm glad there's no such rules here in U.S... I use my phone for work a lot & it depends heavily on the ability to communicate... On a typical busy day, I go through 150 - 200 text messages... Most other times it's phone calls after phone calls... If there was restrictions, I wouldn't know what to do...

Yes,this new limit of sending 5 sms/day is really keeping me away from my friends.Thank god,it has been extended to 20 sms/day.But,this even isn't good enough for me.Let's just hope that this limit will be removed after 31'st August, just as promised by the Department of Telecommunications.

I too! I have not sent a single sms since last four months. Even if the government makes the rule of five sms per month.. it does not affect me.

I hadn't heard of this rule. It seems to me to be none of any Government's business to impose a limit on how many messages may be sent by an individual. If the rule was imposed for safety reasons (and I can't think of any other logical reason), then it is up to every individual to make sure that they both send and receive messages in such a way as not to interfere with what they are doing at the time. In many ways, an SMS is a far safer and more convenient way of communicating than a voice call.

For Filipinos (citizens of the Philippines), 5 sms is so low. We send almost a hundred texts a day. Because mobile phone calls have higher rates and unlimited text offers are the ones really famous here in our country. Every filipino wouldnt agree if our government would also impose that to our country.
