In our area we have filters within the county water systems that are supposed to be purifying the water and making it better. But,it's not. A lot of people that I know that drink tap water's teeth are getting in bad shape and have other health issues. I try to mostly drink bottled spring water.Do you? Where you live do they have controlled water systems? Are they working for the better?

if i could afford it,i would.i am debating getting one of those filters you add to the faucet tho, because ours tastes digusting. the past couple of months it's been smelling chloriney, and then we got a fail notice from the city.which is probably why it smelled like that. i'm pretty sure they add way too much flouride as well, because almost everyone i know has bad teeth.

On the top of the unit there is a cap that all you do is twist off then slowly take the filter out and look how it is positioned so that you'll know how the new one should go into it @dfollin Once you've pushed the new one into place and resealed the cap run the tap for 5 minutes through the new filter before using it.

Water Purifier - Water Purifier used for purifying the water and making it health friendly.
We have the same problem i.e. where we reside. Earlier we used to buy water and drink. This used to cost my family 600 to 650 INR. every month. Hence we have purchased a water purifier and connected it to the tap. Now we drink water from it. Two years back we have bought a KENT made water purifier, it costed 14,000 INR. then.

I live in India. Here we used to buy 25 liters water bottle at home. Which costs 25 rupees in Indian currency. And in a month we had to buy such roughly around 24 to 26 bottles.

Now a days its not recommended of drinking tap water specially to those area prone to floods like our area as water isn't that safe to drink, we only use it for bath and cleaning. We normally buy gallons of water though its not that expensive so at least its more safe also.

Tina,It doesn't seem to really do any good for them to filter their water. We still have to buy bottled water or boil it. stowyk, you are lucky,in the spring when my daughter was doing a sport I got her a sports bottle that has a filter,so she wouldn't have to always have cold bottled water. But,it was a waste of money because of she said the water tasted weird.

they are suppose to purity the water, but they don't. we normally drink bottled water when out traveling. and at home, we first filter the water and boil it for 20-25 minutes and then cool it and finally drink it. its safer.

We have to go thru a large process and/or bigger expense to deal with this issue. All because they say they are purifying the water.

I often choose bottled water. It gives me a sense of security, although,if you come to think upon it,it's not the logical option. Sometimes I envy people who live at the mountain side and have a natural spring water. They can clearly say that no one ever manipulates the water they're drinking.Of course, there are dangers, but I have seen more water related problems here than at the mountain.

Spring water is not always healthy as animals such as bears and some larger cats urinate in them. I find it is best to always boil water before drinking it.

I personally like our tap water, although many do not. I drink it. It has lots of minerals that I think make for strong bones and teeth.

Where I live, we have some of the best tasting water in the world, and in the building where we live, we don't have to pay extra for water. Also, plastic bottles are vey harmful to the environment, when one stops to think about how many are thrown away on a regular basis. I would rather drink tap water than bottled water.

hi dfollin I am not sure how the water system works here in Garden Grove bu t here where i am in this retirement center they] do filter our water as many people here are not in perfect health so I do not really worry about the water. I am so short of funds I have not been buying bottled water nor can I get around that easily either. I am partly physically handicapped. But I did ask when I came here about the water and felt itwas save.

The one I have is the small one that fits on the faucet in the kitchen not the big one that goes under the counter @dfollin that filter is easy to change.

When I lived in Spain, I always drink bottled water from the brand "Bezoya". I lived in a very dry almost-desert zone where it rains 5 times a year, so the water they bring has gone throuh a very aggresive process and has high levels of chloride and fluoride. I don't wish to put a lot of fluoride into my body, since it's not good for your health. Here in England I drink tap water, because it's a better quality, and it's been filtered for a higher purity so I don't have any problem at all drinking it.

Spain does not sound like a place I'd want to live. As for England, wouldn't it be safer to simply boil water before drinking it?

We use tap water only and really it is very very clean and pure water supplied in our city so we don't have any health issues. But filtered water is always preferable as you have rightly said. But in traveling i prefer either a water bottle from home or will purchase mineral water bottle which is hygienic and pure and easy to carry.

Even purified water still has some chemicals in it. I always drink bottled water, not only because I feel like it's better for you, but to me it tastes better as well. I think tap water tastes rusty almost. Your city should definitely be trying to make the water as clean as it can be. Not everyone can afford to buy bottled water all the time and if it's a health issue then it's something that the health department should be pushing for. No one deserves to have unsafe water running in their homes.

it depends, when i am in home i drink tap water from the faucet. when i am in a travel a buy bottled water from nearby mart. but no matter whether tap or bottled is must be free from harmful radicals and must purified.
