The impression of our time seen from the future

As I mentioned in another discussion I visited the medieval festival yesterday. At that festival they try to give people an impression of the daily life in the middle age by showing the crafts, the food, the traditions and the people in the streets.
It made me wonder what future generations would pick if they wanted to make a festival where the topic was the time around 2012. I am sure that some of the things that exist today will disappear in the future and if they wanted to make a festival from our time they would probably choose some of those obsolete things or traditions.
Which things and traditions to do you think that they would pick if they decided to make a festival from our time in the year 2112 or in 2212? Which things would belong to the past at that time?

I would estimate it to be around 800 to 600 years from now just like the middle ages to now, they would probably have a booth there with people on PC's, Mylotting!, they would have relics of what we all posted here and people would be so fascinated the same way we are awed when we see intricate letters done on parchment paper.

It would interesting to see what the future generations think about the world of Mylot. They would probably find it amusing so see what things looked like in the "childhood" of the internet. I would be sure to include an desktop in the exbition, I think that they would find that interesting since no one would be using them anymore and it would look like something from a museum I think that they would also find out laptops very big and find our cellphones funny and totally oldfashioned.

They might also interpret our PC as some sort of Mayan calendar that could predict future eventsand our posts might be taken as "gospel truth", might even be worshiped, there's a big possibility that the future might not be as advanced as ours, it might be more primitive if we do not ban nuclear weapons cause of the danger that man might start from scratch living on caves (fallout shelters)

This is a very interesting topic I must say. I think the things that change and revolute at a very fast pace will become obsolete easily at our descendants' time. They would definitely get exposed to more advanced technologies and I even dare to say that flying with wings attached to their body would not be impossible. Everything will be changed over time.

Yes, the change happens very fast today, and the things from our time will become obsolete in the future. I think that desktop computers and the laptops that we have today will be gone at that time and the computers will be much smaller and much, much more advanced. Flying with wings would be really cool. Who knows which things they will be able to do in the future, some of the things that they are able to do are probably things that we can't even imagine today. Maybe it is will be able to travel from one part of the world to another part of the world really, really fast.

Hahaha, this is really a very interesting topic.
I guess they will choose to display our computer
keyboard, our chopstick (perhaps), our CDs, television,
microwave oven... hmmm one hundred years from now.
With this digital age, things have developed and change
in a very fast pace that we ourselves have to be on our toes
to keep it up.

This is quite interesting and I must say, aside from the computers and technological stuff we have right now that would definitely be obsolete a hundred years from now, I think they could actually feature a lot more when it comes to entertainment stuff like music, movies, fashion and networking sites. Probably, RnB, rock and electro pop music would evolve or become obsolete and probably in a festival like what you've attended, "bling blings", cosplays, lady gaga fashion would also be featured. Maybe movies that are created with CG effects would become obsolete and even these genre of movies could actually be way too different when the 2112 comes.

With technology growing at such a rapid pace, I suspect that the next 100 years would be very eventful. Connecting to other people will become more seamless and instead of calling someone, you could simply talk to them using the internet and the built-in camera most smart phones have.
Cars are less likely to crash and more likely to use alternative fuels like biofuel to get to areas. It's simply a speculation I have and I hope for it to be reality.
