Hi guys in Goa there is an increase in the tax on fast food from 12.5% to directly 20%. I went to KFC today and I paid way more than what I used to pay before. I am very upset about this and I don't know how people are coping with this. I am not sure if it is increased all over India. Can you tell me how much tax you pay in your country on fast food?

I dont think we have that here, but I rarely go out to fast food. I think its stop people from eating at them, and prevent obesity.

Your welcome. But if they increase the cost then less people will buy it. But I know in Canada and the US obesity is on the rise, and its killing off the population. I knew a guy I went to college with who would eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner from fast food plus the off snacks. He wouldnt make his own food and he had diabeties, and look as well as felt horrible.

Well we do have ten percent tax on fast-foods here in my country but everything else anyway has taxes and gas is just a bummer well i wish that the government will just collect better when it comes to tax evaders so that they will not have to ask for more taxes to the paying public.

10% tax is very reasonable. I know we have tax for everything and so does most of other countries but there must be a limit to it. They must think about the people also. Yeah of course the rich ones will be able to afford it but what about the average and the poor ones? I don't what's happening to the world. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead

That is a good thing. The higher the tax on fast food, the less attractive it is to people. You live in a country that has excellent food that is both delicious and healthy. Why eat at a fast food joint like KFC? Look at what fast food joints have helped to bring about in the U.S.--an epidemic of obesity and ill health.

In my country there is a tax for everything we buy. It is the same for books, food, bills, you name it. WE don`t even check on it anymore because we see the final price. People who buy any goods to make something else that will be sold are given a special bill with the net price and the tax in separate items so they can substract what they paid in taxes when they bought whatever they needed to make their final product.

I understand your point marguicha, we also pay tax on all goods and services and that is 12.5% tax all the time. But it has increased from 12.5% to 20%. Such a big jump. You don't know what pain it is. people won't be able to survive like this. Maybe you want to share how much tax you pay on fast food? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead. ..
