It's definitely sad to hear that he passed away. He's one of America's greatest heros and will not soon be forgotten!

Yes,I came to know about his demise last night while watching news on tv.The news reminded me of the day in 1969 when he had landed on the moon.I was too young a child then to understand the significance of the great event of the century. My parents told me all about this.Years later when I grew as a teenager I could understand the importance of the event.
Armstrong represented the most significant incident of the last century.I wish his soul rests in peace.Human race will never forget that great man.He would always remain alive in our memory.

I think he was 81 years old, right? I read an e-mail that he had passed away while I was having a cup of coffee, this afternoon. The ironic thing is that today we attended a birthday party for my Great-Uncle Bill, and he just turned 80. Amazing! He hasn't changed a day since he was 60!! Anyway, Neil was only a year older than Uncle Bill, and 9 years younger than my Grandma, who just turned 90. Such a shame that good people can't live forever.

Indeed, it is sad to hear the first man landed on the moon had passed away. At that time, i was haven't born yet. Even both my parents are still very young. It is an event worth to be remembered forever as how Neil willing to take the challenge to be the first person on the moon.

It is really sad to know that. I came to know of this here only, in my world devoid of tv and news (for few people use net to get headlines) He was really a legend and actually some years ago I would have been shocked to know he was still alive. Lack of knowledge and all that....
Again, sad news. May his soul rest in peace. But where is this "discussion" going?

I think most everyone knows this guy and I especially since I live just about an hour and a half south of where he is from. I have a friend who lives in Wapakoneta now and she posted about it on FB last night...

Well, a hero has a pass away. I have heard of the news early today. But I am sure that his name will not be forgotten in history. He was able to accomplish a task that only few can ever do and was the first one to do such. May his soul rest in peace and may accomplishment be always remembered.

This is really sad.
But his name remains a legend forever.
His body may gone, but his name and contribution in this life will be cherished forever and will be on the pages of every hero who did great things on earth.

Yes, he had made a history being the first man to step on the moon. The news said, he is a very humble person and remains at that even after their lunar flight.I'm sure he will be remembered for his achievement same with Edwin Aldrin, the other Astronaut with him.

Yes, its shocking. I read about him when I was a kid. I got inspired by his well known words, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Today when I opened the newspaper, I was in for a bitter shock. He had heart surgery several weeks ago, and was ill. May he rest in peace.
