How naturally did you give birth?

I had an epidural but everything natural. In terrified of a fully natural birth. I had the epidural because the contractions were too close together and not letting me have a break for four hours before a succumbed to the shot! I am investigating breathing exercises or thinking paths to have a natural birth my next go around in the future. I'm not pregnant now as I'm getting too anxious of the thought of birth even after having two children. What are some methods that could help my panic attacks? I want to start practicing now. I've quit smoking and refuse I take medication as that is not healthy for any pregnancy. Thank you.

I had an epidural and it worked great. Labor was enough for me so I asked for an epidural, followed the nurses instructions, after the birth and had absolutely no problems.
Parenting has enough aches and pains, and getting a happy healthy, and painfree baby into the world, as gently as possible gets my vote.

I agree with you , I think when I have baby in the future I would rather not to be in so much pain . I just dont think I can put myself through so much pain when it can be avoided . I am afraid of jumping during the injection though, men have it so easy.

I jumped during the epidural for my eldest before the second needle. Thank God I'm not paralyzed but it was scary and I couldn't do it again unless I had to in an emergency like with my second. I would accept any after birth pain medications for those cramps tough! Happy mylotting! Thank you for commenting :)

Each of the three times I have had a home birth.
I like to have natural and active births. For my first labor I hired a water pool which I did my contracting in. The water relaxed me and made me feel more calm. I liked to use the gas and air to distance me from the strong pain. I pushed my baby out in 20 minutes on my bed. Then I had a retained placenta which required removal in hospital with me awake.
For my second labor I had bought a water pool. Although my baby came too quickly for me to use the pool. I didn't have any pain relief at all. So I gave birth 100 per cent naturally.
Due to my wonderful second birth I didn't bother with my water pool. The midwife arrived 10 minutes before my baby was born. Due to that even though I asked for it there was no time for any gas and air.

What is the gas and air? Please teach me! I saw one woman so attached to her oxygen tank she wouldn't let it go throught the contractions.
I used the epidural to delay my second too as I was having a panic attack too since her fether wasn't there and he was my support. He made it for the birth, thank God!
I massaged my belly and pushed my placenta out which you shouldn't do due to ripping it out and bleeding or hemmorhage, but I couldn't wait to get up and walk around with my baby and nurse since I was ina bed since that morning and she came out in the evening.
I heard the pool helps with the stretching for the pain too of birth or is it just for labor?
Where are you? I'm in New York.

With my first born, the doctor ended up giving me an episiotomy. Just a small one. I probably wouldn't have needed one at all, but I was terribly nervous and wouldn't cooperate (at first). After the doctor told me that my baby's heart rate was dropping and mentioned something about a C-section I changed my tune fast...unfortunately, it was too late. The doctor gave me a little snip to help with the delivery. That was it though. Other than that it was a natural birth.
All my fear about giving birth went away after that. When it was time to give birth to my second child I wasn't scared at all. I didn't think I would need any help this time around, but needed some as my water wouldn't break on it's own. After waiting it out as long as they could, the doctor had to do it for me. Other than that it was a natural birth as well.

My mom gave birth for 4 times. She did not have an epidural. She saw another mother having one,and the mother flinched without notice and got paralyzed. So she decided not to have injections in her spine.Never! And for 4 times she did exactly so.
Well, she couldn't hide from injections in her spine, though. She had a lumbar puncture, which scared her a lot!But she was OK.
Not smoking is an essential must for your children. It would be good not to smoke for ever.
Medication...it depends.If it's for a flu,yes,don't take it.But if it's for something more important,I would suggest you taking though.

I was talking about breathing exercises to learn how to control panic attacks for a comfortable birth. I jumped during the epidural as well after the first shot before the second and I could've been paralyzed but wasn't. I don't want to take medication for panic attacks is what I was explaining to prevent quitting it when I am pregnant and having them come on worse. I believe it's all phychological so medication wouldn't work for me. All they do is lower my blood pressure anyway so I hate taking medication except like acetominophen and Ibprofen. I agree medications aren't good during pregnancy as well that is why I'm wondering what could I do to learn to control it with breathing exercises like when I would smoke. Thank you for your comment. Can you ask your aunt what exercises she did to prepare. Thank you again.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I was determined to have a full natural birth. However, the pain was just too bad and eventually I had an epidural, which was wonderful. When I had my second child, I asked for an epidural. I tried the breathing exercises, but they didn't work for me. Perhaps you should consider a water birth. I've heard that they are quite calm.

I give birth naturally. It is so painful that/s why I don't want to have another baby again even my man is asking me for a baby from him.

With my girls I had epidurals and petocin. My labors last a long time and very slow moving. Some people can handle it all and go natural with no help for pain or anything. With my 3rd I had no choice in the end but a c-sect and that put me into PPD as I didn't want that at all that was not how I was supposed to deliver and the pain that lasted for months physically sure as heck kept that PPD going for months. GL to you!

My 3 births were natural except pain killer in i.v. Had to have stitches though because all 3 were over 9 pounds. But my husband and Ii took Lammas classes, and that helped. It really helped that my husband was with me. When my third son was born (in the morning)he weighed almost 11 pounds, by noon that same day I had my tubes tied and by evening I was up taking a shower. The nurses called me "wonder woman."
