Improving English Writing Skills With Mylot

This is great community to help improve your English skills. I am a writer, and I still need the practice of writing daily. One purpose of this community is that you have to respond to different types of topics. There are so many types of writing on here that you will learn quickly how to respond to different purposes. For example, if someone asking you how was a movie or a product, that's pretty much a review. And to respond to a review, you give the advantages and disadvantages of the product or why you overall think that this product or movie would be good to purchase or watch. As for opinion pieces, you have to give a convincing argument. You also have to do what I call "short answers"--but usually, they have to have meaning and impact to get your point across. Also, when you are in the threads like "Politics," you have to be very constructive in your criticism and provide evidence when you are discussing political issues. If you can't hold your own in discussions as such, some folks will eat you alive! LMAO! I think one of the things that Mylot helps me with is to watch really carefully my typos and technical writing all together. So, you're right. It does help out with your written language. Hi friend, you are right, it is the best place for lot of things, we can spend our time usefully in this site as well as earn money based on our activity and improve our knowledge and writing skills while participating in this site, make a lot of good friends around world and have fun with them

MYLOT is really a great community and yes where we share our ideas get knowledge and discuss about many things and we also got paid for discussing.yes mylot is great place where we can improve our writing skill and i am really thankful to mylot because because of mylot my writing skill is improved and try it to improve more .

Definitely mylot has helped me a lot to improve my language skills. My English was not that much good and I found that my language has improved a lot after joining here in mylot. Also I feel very much free and cool to spend time here in mylot .

MyLot can help you breaking the language barrier between users of different countries.Of course,it won't do it on its own. One good advice is to pay attention,when you write,on the red dotted line that shows up under words.If it appears under names,it's good.Just don't make it appear on other nouns. Activity plays a crucial role in learning English with this site. But there is a situation pondering.I have seen many many users(including me) trying to use MyLot as a means of perfecting English.Most will want to look how X,Y,Z write.This isn't quite productive.One thing that could happen is to perpetuate a mistake. Also,if a speaker is English,Australian,American etc. that doesn't necessarily imply that he/she speaks fluent perfect English. So,try to learn from others,but try consulting books,grammar,literature and so on.It will prove handy,I can guarantee you.

indeed,you are absolutely right.mylot do help us much to learn english. i am a newcomer to mylot but i feel regret having ont met it earlier.in the passed few days i spent here,i feel my english improve lot,i can remember many words that i have been forgot,i alse learn many native english from mylotters however,the most important thing is i can meet so many kindness mylotters.i will come mylot whenever possible

iam indonesian and of course english is not my main language.. here, i learn many new words in english here i can learn quickly to understand my friend means here.. more and more i discuss here, i think it can improve my english

myLot is a wonderful site but since one cannot point out mistakes I cannot say that this is the place where one can improve one's English.

The best way to improve one's skill is through practice. By joining mylot discussions daily we are already practicing not only our English proficiency (particularly if one resides in a country where English is not the native tongue), our writing skills and our thinking ability. Hence participating in mylot is not only for earning but for enhancing our knowledge, writing skills and way of thinking too.

In my case, it's a great exercise to practice English, which is not my mother tongue. Sometimes, I have to use a dictionnary to remember how to write a word or even to learn new words. It's a nice experience to practice a language and it unifies so many people from many diferent countries and cultures.

I agree with you really mylot is very helpful to improving the English writing skills and gaining more vocabulary therefore I love mylot and like to spend more time here. My English was weak but now knows lots of new words. Like sneezing, newbie, sleepwaking etc.

Writing everyday is a good way to practice English. I learn a lot from here..reading, new words, etc... Before i was very lazy to write English but now, i like to write it in here, mylot for posting my discussions and topics. Mylot makes me change...

Its true you can improve your english writing skills with forums like this. But I think its more of self discipline, some people write without even knowing what grammatical error they've committed. I'm contented with my writing skills, though it needs some polishing, but when speaking english, I stutter a lot and it feels awkward.

I'm from Vietnam, so my english ( speaking, writing, reading, listening etc. ) is very bad :( It make me sad. But when i take part in mylot, my english skills are better. Now i can chat with other people. Thanks Mylot

I see that you live in Italy, so it is unlikely that you encounter English on a regular basis. This is the main reason that Mylot is useful because you have the opportunity to use the language every day. One of the real problems when learning another language is that you may be taught a selection of words, but then by not using them for a while it becomes very difficult to remember.

You've got it right. Different opinions from different cultures help us also improve our reasoning skills not just our English writing skills. There are people here who are really so patient and so good in giving or sharing their opinion that you will enjoy to discuss with. I call it an intellectual conversation with someone who is not judging you at all. I have been here for several years and I do not really care how much will I earn, I just enjoy meeting people and knowing how they react to topics of discussions posted here. It entertains and enlighten my view about life and other things in general.

When I got into myLot this was the thing I though of. It is not so correct that we can share 'whatever we want', of course, we can do a great a lot standing within the limitations of myLot guidance. I am much sure that we can improve a lot and there is no doubt that people have agreed to it alrady. Apart from these, we can interact with various people from all over the world, learning about their culture, understanding different people, various views opinions on different topics etc are really deserve values and many discussion are really worth and it gives a 'live' atmosphere here as compared to many other community sites. Hope you/we will enjoy myLot still better in all ways.
