I had a lean cuisine which i like alot , they are handy to fix, yada, yada. I could not think of a thing i wanted that i had. I have a freezer full of food that i have put up this summer but nothing sounded good to me.Do y'all ever get to that point where u want nothing to eat that u have?

I like some varieties if Lean Cuisine, too. Since I have trouble cooking because of my shaking hands, we have TV dinners every now and then. I'm sure that will become much more frequent if I'm ever left alone. Yes, I have days when nothing we have sounds good, not even the TV dinners in the freezer.

It appears to me that usually dinners are cheaper than buying all the ingredients and making the dinner from scratch, especially for one or two people.

hi dear Antiquelady a little similar over here. Husband was away when I got really hungry this afternoon. Problem is he forgot to shop for more bread so we were really short. Anything with bread was not an option.
Soooo I fixed a pancake, that was a really great idea. Made it without sugar but with a few drops of vanilla essence and then put cinnamon on it when it was ready.

hi my dearest two friends, shortly after I had my pancake my husband came home from self help group and said what smells so nice in here, so later I made a pancake with real sugar for him too.
Over here in Germany pancakes are no breakfast food but also a nice lunch or dinner on meatless days, and the best ones are the savory ones with small pieces of bacon in them like my mother made them. Add a big serving of lettuce and you have a great meal.

Bet that does make it hard to find something. That's too bad because they do come in handy sometimes.

Right now everything in sight looks good to me. Since I quit smoking I've gained 8 pounds and I'm angry about it. They say the nicotine curbs your appetite and raises your metabolism. Well, I'm doing the e-cigs and they have nicotine and it sure as heck NOT curbing my appetite.
All my life I've been on track with my weight and now just because I don't smoke, all I'm doing is gaining and I'm not even eating anything more than I use to because I know better...I'm just always hungry.
Sorry, small little rant here. So all in all, I can say that anything in my house right now looks good enough to eat. UGH!!! I think I'm losing my mind.

HaHaHa, the funny part is, I was so happy I quit with no problems, and then I get this garbage. The craving for food is not the problem. I was eating salads and tuna and lightweight food for over a week and I STILL gained weight. Not happy.

I will try this again since last time it didn't post. I do get to the point where nothing sounds good that I have on hand. So I end up going out for a hamburger or deli sandwich. I like an occasional Lean Cuisine but they have alot of sodium in them so I stay away. Hope you enjoy all the stuff you put up this Summer.

Why, yes! Even this very Sunday evening, I'm not thrilled with any of the choices that are right before me. Would that it made a difference re losing weight, but no.
I could whip up any number of dishes in available in my pantry, refrigerator, freezer, but nothing is really speaking to me.
This shows you that a lot of "eating and food choices" really does start and end in the mind.
Right now, dinner remains an unknown quantum, unless I use a coupon for something out, due to my unwillingness to work at cooking, or something "hits" me re preparing something for myself and foregoing that treat.
Really, I almost always plan meals ahead, a family tradition learned from my father, who was the first "foodie" in my life.
In a sense, though, I'm glad to be uninspired just now. I guess I'll just surprise myself.

Thanks for responding. Hey, use that coupon & go get u something u wouldn't have at home. I did consider going & getting me something but about all we have here is burger joints unless u want to get dressed & go in somewhere & i sure didnm't want to do that. Don't like to go out & eat alone.Hope u come up w/a good surprise as well as a tasty one.

I eat alone all the time to but just don't care for going out by myself. I eat out very seldom, too expensive & w/all i have at home seems silly. My neighbor came & spent the afternoon& didn't leave till nearly six o'clock so my supper was quick but it tasted pretty good, lol.

I'm used to eating alone, in or out, but I wouldn't get "dressed up" to do that just now.
So, I'll just keep myself in suspense for a bit, until actual hunger surfaces.............

Yes, I certainly do. I am always looking for new ideas. If you are cooking for one the Lean Cuisine is not too bad, unfortunately I have to plan for three most of the time. You probably will not get full on the frozen dinner but it is a good foundation. I have one that does not eat many veggies, one that does not eat pasta, and me, who will eat anything and eat too much. Sometimes it feels as if I am always thinking about the next meal.

hi mylotter pasta thats something I am always ready for especially
spaghetti and meat balls but when I made it myself it had to be
Barellis spaghetti with added protein and omega 3 and 3 added as it did not shoot up my blood sugar like ordinary pasta does.Oddly
my son even liked the p asta I used to cook and he was very picky.'Do either of you like pasta? lol

I have that problem rather often! I try to keep things on hand that will tempt me and are old favorites. Otherwise I don't bother to eat, which isn't good for anyone. Of course I will fall back on a favorite, dark chocolate, to get the juices going and I'll find something to put down. Of course when you mention lean cuisine, there are some favorites from their line, along with Stoffer's spinach souffle. I have always loved spinach, when I was a kid Mom would always make two packages of spinach because I would eat one on my own. That was the same thing with string beans! Well to be honest, any vegetable was doubled because I would clean up the second package and what was left of the first! So it always pays for me to have veggies in the freezer because if nothing else I'll eat those.

Yes I have been so hungry all day! The freezer and the cabinets are all full of food but I don't know what I really want and I so don't feel like cooking! Or driving anywhere to get anything. I am so tired today and just want to eat something but not sure what? If I go in the kitchen then my husband will probably want me to cook but I won't be doing that today! L.O.L. I have been going in the kitchen a few times and getting some chips and dip and then had a granola bar but I am really wanting some food now not snacks he he just don't want to go in there.Lean Cusines are so goood!! Too bad I don't have any of those at this time but so many other things.

Ya, I know right. I totally agree with your statement here. There are times where I have eaten the same foods for dinner for a while and I have gotten tired of it. Now I know why people go eat out at fancy restaurants or go have some fast foods sometimes because they would have gotten bored of their own cooking. There are times where I would completely skip the dinner altogether because I have gotten bored of eating it. I don't know how dogs or cats or other animals can stand eating the same food everyday.

More times than not antiquelady. I get cravings for something and look around and eat something that I think might be for what I'm craving for. After I eat it, it just doesn't seem to quench that craving. So I try something else and that doesn't curb it either.

Hi sweet Jo! I have a terrible time finding something to eat! I'm not much of a meat eater so it makes it all the more harder but eventually I'll find something. Most of the time I'll make something with potatos like a baked potato or potato pieces with cheese. Today is my b-day so I had some cheese enchilatas with some green sauce and cooked tomatoes. Yummy!

I have that issue all the time, sometimes we have good food to eat and sometimes we don't. I haven't been grocery shopping in awhile because I haven't had the money to do so, so the things we have to eat here is nothing that I want. But I eat it anyways because it can't sit and spoil it's a waste of money if you do that. But next pay check I am definitely going shopping and getting the foods I like to eat.

I think everyone gets to that point, but if you are not in a position to go out for something you really want you just have to make the best of what you have. Of course it is always good to try and keep some of your favorite foods on hand.

Yes time to go shopping. It is not a fun time for me either and especially if I'm hungry I will want to buy the whole store.
I get the way you describe when we have food too though. It is an odd thing that happens, maybe our moods or tastes will just be changing.
