Amount of jewelry people wear

I saw a man today with earrings, 2 gold necklaces, bracelet on his left wrist & few rings... I thought that was a bit much... I have a necklace my daught once bought me for my birthday & I wear a pin on my shirt... I don't even like wearing a watch... Then I thought, how much of jewelry is too much? I've seen men & women wearing a lot of jewelry & I thought that's too much, almost like women wearing too much make ups... Do you guys wear any jewelry & how much do you think is too much?

Some people love wearing a lot of jewelry like a status.
In my opinion, it is better to see a rich person or any person as simple as possible.
Simplicity is still the best, but of course some people wants to display their assets and wearing more jewelry is their way of showing it.

I never understood about that... Jewelry doesn't really do anything for me... Matter in fact, in all honesty, I think too much of it makes people look cheap & fake if you asked me... They look like they are looking for attentions... But then that's just my opinion...

Well, we have different opinions...
I myself do not wear jewelries...not because I cannot afford to buy one, but I feel like choked when wearing one...hehehe
not to mention it may cause my life- you know, robbers and hold-uppers.

I went on a boat trip to see seals in South Africa. They were laughing about earlier that week seeing a tourist from Johannesburg covered in jewelry. They said she had a ring on each finger, bangles galore and many necklaces. She had told them it was too dangerous for her to wear them back home in dangerous Johannesburg. It was much safer there in the Garden Route close between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
In the daytime I always wear my watch. When I wish to dress up might wear a bangle and a necklace that matched. I rarely wear my rings. At my mom's house I had some jewelry stolen when a burglar come in. I keep my rings kept hidden away rather than wear them these days. In my teenage years I liked wearing some of my rings.
I think that the man you describe was wearing too much jewelry.

I'm not much of a jewelry person so I thought it was me but after reading responses, guess its not just me... Only reason I'm wearing a pin on my shirt is because I belong to a fraternity, Freemason, & I wear it as a symbol so anyone else who's a mason can tell I'm one, too... I thought about getting a ring with the symbol but again, I really don't like too many stuff on my body so I decided against it... Eventually when my girl friend & I get married, I'll wear a wedding ring but that's about it... I don't really consider watch as a jewelry but I guess it can be to some people... I just don't like wearing one...

It depends on the person. The person you saw might be a follower of some trend or just want to wear some things and more at the same time. For them, it doesn’t matter how much they wear, it’s how they wear it. if they can pull it off, then they are entitled to wear as much as they like.
I’m a person who doesn’t wear much jewellery. My female friends tell I don’t often wear anything decorative or sparkly. usually, I am to be forced to wear jewellery but that’s me. Other people have their own preferences.

Trust me, he didn't wear them well... But you're right, I guess it's upto him to do whatever he wants & whatever the way he wants to look... As long as he's not breaking any laws, I guess I don't have any room to talk... I was just curious to what would make someone dress the way they do or wear so many jewelry as they do...

I don't wear much jewelry at all. The only two things that I have on me at all times are a ring with my boyfriend's name engraved on it and a necklace that he gave me. I usually only wear those because they're really important to me and I like to keep them with me all the time. My ears are pierced and every once in a while I'll put my earrings in for the day.

You're pretty much same way as I am... Only reason I wear a necklace is because it's from my daughter... My girlfriend knows I don't like jewelry so she never bothers getting me anything... She even makes fun of me that when we get married, she's gonna get me a dog collar instead of wedding ring... I know some guys have their ears pierced but I don't so obviously I don't wear any earings...

I am a person who doesn't like to wear jewelries, on a special occasion maybe, but most of the time, I only wear my wedding ring, that's all. there are people who wants to show off their expensive belongings even if there's no occasion at all. :)

Yeah, I realized that, too... I tend to think people with a lot of jewelry look cheap & fake but that's just me... I know a guy who owns his own business... He does work a lot but his business is pretty successful... He drives around in a beat up car his dad gave him when he was younger & he dresses in a very casual clothings... We were just hanging out one day & topic of mo ey came up... He said he likes working because it keeps him busy... His idea was, as long as he has enough money so that he doesn't end up homeless, he's happy... I started laughing & told him, jokingly, "No wonder you have so much money... You just don't know what to do with them so you just hang on to them...". He looked at me for a moment & said, "You know, you're right... I never thought of it that way but come to think of it, I have never taken any decent vacation...". Next thing I know, 2 weeks later, I get a plane ticket in a mail... I get a phone call from him & he says, "Hey! Did you get the plane ticket I sent ya? We're going to Hawaii for a week & it's on me...!". Turns out, it was first class round trip ticket... I never knew exactly how much money he made till then... iPad an idea but didn't really know... Here it turns out, he makes over $800,000 a year... He had little over 2 million dollars in his personal bank account... He would not let me spend any money on that vacation... Who knew?

I think when you have on 5 or more jewelries that's too much. I only wear 3 most of the time and that for me is actually way too much already. I don't see any reason why anyone would wanna resemble a christmas tree with ornaments. Not to mention posing themselves to muggers. I don't wear that much jewelry because I'm too clumsy that either I lose it or break it or I cut myself.

I dont like seeing people wearing too much jewelry . I wear earning , necklace and my engagement ring . I think people wearing like 3 necklace , ring on every finger, ring over eyes , lips etc is too much .

hi,
wearing of expensive jewelry are really hot in the eyes of all people and even to all bad people,that is why most of people now don't wear jewelry when they will go in a place where snatchers scattered.even me i am afraid to wear them so i choose to wear simple silver jewelry only.

I agree with you too: that guy wears a lot jewelry. Currently i wear one silver necklace and one stone bracelet only. I don't like to wear jewelry a lot because it is heavy...Except my silver necklace, i don't move it out. If i wear a ring, i should not wear bracelet.
I want jewelry makes me more beautiful, i don't want my body is a place to hang out jewelry...

I don't wear jewelry everyday, only for special occation I would wear my jewelry. If I'm going to big party like wedding I will wear one necklace and may be one ring on my finger sometimes with bracelet too. I think it will be too much if someone wear 2 necklace, 2 gold necklace? is horrible show off for me and so not fahionable
