Just about 20 years or so ago, I was aware of the doctor' advice to refrain from too much coffee. But only later have I heard that coffee is in fact an anti oxidant. I drink lots of coffee of about 6 to 8 cups a day and more when i stay up late. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I rise to sip my favorite beverage- the brewed coffee.

I think it is okay to drink coffee but still in moderation. About 2-3 cups a day is already enough. Just remember, everything in excess is always bad.

Newest info on coffee: Good for you so long as it does not affect y our nervous system (Make your hands shake), if you use a filter when brewing it and drink it black. Cream and/or sugar negate the antioxidant effect.

Wow I remember too much is also a poison. I mean to say drink moderately. As I know and ideal coffee to take is 2-3 cups a day. Because more than that might be cause of palpitation, coffee is high in coffaine that not really good in our health if too much. In my case I drink coffee in the morning then around 4pm in the office and 9pm I drink green tea with lemon... that's my complete cycle..

Ancient Greeks had a motto..."It is good to have a limit"
The translation might not be so good but you get the point.
Meaning that you can enjoy everything but you have to restrain yourself at a point.
You can enjoy coffe and it does some good but the way you consume it it is not good. Coffee affects the nerve system.
There is nothing worse you can do to your body on a sleepless night than to make it nervous.
1-2 cups a day is more than enough.
