On the application it is mentioned that, we should get the fitness certificate from a doctor(MBBS) , i didn't understand the reason for this, why do they need a fitness certificate from a doctor? what could be the reason behind this? And i heard that there are many benefits of yoga ,can any one tell me what are the benefits? friends please share your views

Have you ever tried yoga before? 'Cause if you have, you would know that there are yoga positions that would require a lot of strength and one little mistake could lead to injury. There are positions that can compromise a person especially those with weak muscles, bones, etc. Yoga should be done slowly and at your own pace, if you try too hard you might hurt yourself. There are basic yoga routines that are suited for newbies and there are more advanced routines that would take years of yoga practice before they can be applied. The fitness certificate is probably to insure that the yoga class will not be liable for any injury in your part.

They are probably asking for a fitness certificate from a doctor to ensure that you are in good enough health to take the class. I started doing yoga about 8 months ago and I love it. It has really helped with my flexibility and with strength. An additional benefit for me is that it cured arthritis in my hip. I love it. My friend has done Bikram for 12 years and I think that is going to be the next step for me.

If you are fit and healthy,I don't think you need a certificate to prove it.The certificate you will get from the doctor will only show that you have participated in the yoga diploma course. That's all. So far as the benefits of yoga are concerned,I would like to tell you that yoga is the best exercise for your overall physical and mental health. It prevents symptoms of aging, makes your muscles flexible and strengthens your body.It keeps your digestive system fit.It is impossible for me to tell about all the benefits of yoga in this short response.

Yoga is nothing short of a miracle for getting a fit body and mind, if practiced regularly. It gives great flexibility to the body, mental peace, better concentration. In fact, some people are making great amount in Dollars and Pounds in US, and UK by teaching Yoga there. Unfortunately, many of us are not into practicing it regularly. Else, we can keep off many diseases by practicing it. At least, we can do some deep breathing exercises even if we are short on time. Even they will help make us healthier.

As I've heard from my friend who was doing yoga, yoga can bring worst effects if a person is having certain ailments. And he told that it can be worst if it is taught by a immature yoga guru. So, if you are going to the doctor tell that you need the fitness certificate for joining yoga. Don't just ask for general fitness.

Yoga - Good for the body, mind and soul
They say that yoga is good for the mind, body and soul. Therapeutic as it is. Though I haven't gone to any class but I opt to have one soon because it is beneficial according to some of my friends. I like this physical activity as it entails discipline. Wish I have the time to attend soon. Thanks for reminding

Hi, I also can't understand the reason why they are demanding fitness certificate from MBBS doctor. Yoga is very useful for fitness of our body. It strengthens the muscles of our body, it also useful for our blood circulation, it enhances the heart functioning of our body. Pranayam is a breathing exercise useful for respiration. Yoga is very useful for our whole body.

Fitness certificate, if normal, certifies that your body can sustain a few fluctuations if at all you are subjected to it. If your certificate, for instance says that your heart is sensitive, then it would been taken care of that your heart is not suddenly stressed out and gradually it should be improved. Yoga is extremely helpful majorly because it relies on the method of prevention rather than cure. It may be slow but results are sure shot and without any medication. It is natural which gives it an extra edge over medicines.

I think you need a fitness certificate, so the seller of the course, protects himself legally if you can hurt doing the yoga. They want to make sure that your body is ok to do yoga and you do not have any conditions that could be worsened by doing the exercies. Enjoy the course. Let us know how you like it.

I am interested to know because this discussion is 4 months old whether you went on and did the 3 months diploma course? I think the reason why you would need a fitness certificate is that if you went and did the course and you injured yourself you could sue the people who ran the course or the college, as not everyone is suitable to yoga. Yoga is beneficial and healthy and ideal for young and old.
