Once you are addicted to it, it is really hard to quit but there are things that he can use to replace the nicotine that makes smoking so addicting like nicotine patch or nicotine gums which can replace the nicotine. There are some steps to follow when using the nicotine replacement therapy.

Yes, I heard about that. Quitting is really difficult for smokers. I'm not rushing him but I just want him to quit smoking. Happy mylotting.

To quit smoking is not easy, It takes a lot of willpower and determination. I am a quitter for some four years now and determine to quit for life. It is harder to quit if almost all your buddies are smokers. The first few months is the hardest part of quitting the habit and the nicotine withdrawal is unbearable. Peers will test your will power and will try to offer you smokes but if you're determine to quit, they will stop.
You can't force a smoker to quit, just ask him politely to quit not only for his health but for the family as well.

I hope he will quit too soon. I'm not a smoker so I don't know what you smokers are undergoing during the quitting stages. Thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting. :)

As a smoker, I can tell you right now that you cannot STOP someone from smoking. They have to want to quit for themselves. If you nag your husband or try to force the issue it might just drive him to smoke more. Or he might try to hide the fact that he is smoking from you, just because he doesn't want the grief he'd be getting from you. I've smoked for 13 years and I've tried to quit a couple of times, but I didn't last more than a day or two because I really didn't WANT to. And I have to admit that, for now at least, I enjoy smoking more than I want to quit. If you want him to quit, don't try to "stop" him from smoking, just gently encourage him.

We only see each other on weekends. Whenever I go home, he's still smoking. I told him to minimize smoking. He promised me to have four sticks a day. However, he's already a chain smoker. Happy mylotting.

I must tell you that if your husband has will power and is willing to stop smoking by his own wish than he can stop it at any time he wants to but he will have withdrawal symptoms if he has been smoking for years now. see, unless it is his will, no one can help him.
My husband is being smoking since is was 15 and now he is 30. But the time he met me, he told me that he wanted to stop smoking and drinking. he has been stopping for 4 months and then starting again like that and I knew he has the will power to stop it all of a sudden as well. When he stops he wants to drink lot of lime water with sugar because he was getting withdrawal symptoms and I used to make jugs of it. He has not been drinking for almost 6 months now and he is going to stop smoking from tomorrow since it is his friends birthday tomorrow and he had promised me to stop soon.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
