I think there must be something bothering him and that he needs to realize that it is bad for his health. Your friend must talk to him that why he is doing this all the time. They can sort out if there is some problem. But sometimes people just like to drink for pleasure and they become addicted to it and than it is very hard to quit. My husband used to drink a lot and he used to go violent on the road and with his friends. I would not have been with him here today but because the first day i met him he said he doesn't want to smoke and drink and that I was the one who could help him since I don't smoke nor do I drink in my life.
As I saw that he wants to with all his heart than I am with him trying to help him out. He has stopped drinking about 6 months now and is doing very good. He sits with his friends who are drinking but he is not touching drinks anymore,. That is willpower. If you want to do it, you will do it. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Thank you Riyauro! Your kind words and your experience with your husband encourage me a lot. I will tell my friend about this and try to persuade him to go far away from the drinking . Have a nice day!

I had also many friends of mine who indulged themselves into this bad habit of drinking and their habit worsened as time passed. Some of them were close enough to me and I tried my level best to get them rid of this absurd habit. But they frankly accepted that it is very hard for them to give up this habit. I couldn't understand this statement but realized that may be something must be there which I am not able to figure out. May be they needed the help of counselors more than me.
