I am yet again rethinking having the website for my business...as I said in last night's post, I am running the internet side of things at a loss...this is an extra $40 a month I could be buying more products with if I didn't have my website...I have my facebook group which has almost reached 300 members & when people outside of my town want to buy things, I could always invoice them through paypal...there is always the bank deposit option like we have with paypal & other such sites...what would you do? would you keep the website or not & why?

If you're running it at a loss, it's apparently not doing you much good. I would let it go, especially since Facebook is working for you. Have you thought about setting up a blog? You can get a free on (blogger.com) and use the same name as your site (not the URL, but the name) so if people search for you, it should turn up.

I was thinking about putting up a blog & had started on it but didn't think it would be for me but maybe it's time to rethink that.

You can do almost anything with a blog that you do with a paid for domain. Hope it works out for you

if you are making money then keep the website, if it isn't doing well rethink and brainstorm what could make it better.

This is true but as far as i am aware, I have done everything possible other than spending as extra $12 a month for the website host to help with seo

Hi, I believe that if you are going to have a website selling items it has to be as professional as possible. Even on E-Bay, photographs are pretty good . Photos of clothing on a hanger on a hook on a wall, to me, is a big turn off. I'd be saying stick to E-Bay to sell your items. I know there's lots of competition with similar items but at least you see what you're up against and can act accordingly. Why would you hang on to your site and continue to pay when you are not getting sales?

well i guess when the same thing can be done free on your facebook group then there is no need for a website. I agree that $40 is too much. You have to have that much sales also to get profit. Just hang on for some time and do as much as you can via facebook. That is a better option as from my point of view. I know you will do better on facebook. Add more people to your group. My husband has a group and he has more than 9000 members and I know you can do it too. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

This is actually a good discussion. Getting a website for product actually requires more networking and this depends on how much you are earning with the product. EX: u are earning $5 on each product you can continue to market tru internet. you'll also need someone to pay for web designing unless you are a webmaster yourself. Happy posting.
