Today will starts the XIV Paralympics Games in London. These international competitions started officially in 1960 in Rome after the traditional Olympic Games, but already in 1948 doctor Ludwig Guttmann had organised some races for athletes with disabilities. Doctor Antonio Maglio, director of the center of work injuries, proposed Guttmann to play the Games in the same location of Olympics Games, Rome, and so Paralympics Games were born. In 1976 also for Winter Games had been played competitions for disabled people. Some athletes had also played in the traditional Olympic Games. The first case had been the one of Neroli Fairhall in 1984 in Los Angeles where she played in archery.
