Almost the whole week, we have been exposed to the death and life of Secretary and former Mayor of Naga, Jesse Robredo. What do you think the country has gained from his life? And what have we lost from his death? There are so many good things we have heard from the media.

Well I saw him as a good Mayor of the city, I think the country saw and witness that a person can really lead without the need for political backing and he was a good servant leader. He never gained power through money and never got interested when he has the chance and continued to work for a good governance which showed in his staying long in power in our city. It just shows that he deserves to be in that position because he gained the trust of his constituency by being there for them and being sincere in his promises to his people. I can say many good things about our mayor than his being a DILG secretary. I was there in her first three terms to witness the transformation of the city despite being bullied by higher powers in the province we survived and prevailed against them.
As DILG secretary I was not able to looked what he has done with the department. But I saw that he did very good as well by seeing the outpouring of the support by the employees and the government as well as the people he encountered with. I can see that he has imparted same technique although since it was on a national level it was not really magnified and the results were slow unlike when he implemented it in Naga.
What have we lost....? I can think of only one answer a great leader that could have serve a good Mayor, Cabinet Secretary, probably a Senator or even the Presidency. But that is all gone for now.
