So, I use this phone and it is great ! :D
But there are some little things that sometimes frustrate me.
For example if I play games for 2-3 hours it gets really hot.
Sometimes it just frozes for no reason. It even shuts itself down sometimes.
Does anyoe else has some problems with their galaxy s2 or is it just because I use it too much ? :)
Happy myLotting ;)

Just the most important about this mobile is the processor. Galaxy S II, as it's also known - is the phone the Korean firm deems the successor to its best smartphone so far. And with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, super-slim chassis and feather-light innards, it's easy to see why.
The dual-core smartphone race is packed , with Samsung's own Galaxy Ace 2, the Huawei Ascend P1, Sony Xperia Go, iPhone 4S and many more handsets all boasting the fast processors, although bigger brother the Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Optimus 4X HD and a growing number of others run with quad-core CPUs. Cheers

Hi pcserver,
Sounds like you are buying this smartphone mainly for playing games..wow...It is normal actually for handphones to heat up whenever it is being used continuosly for hours. But some smartphones/ handphones do heat up faster. If I am not wrong, the smaller and thinner the size of the handphones, the easier and faster they get heat-up when being used. I am a Nokia smartphone user.
But lately, I have been looking at this S2 model. Do you like using it? I mean besides the problem you mentioned above, is it worth buying? I am thinking of getting an extra handphone for postpaid use. Currently, I am using prepaid handphone but the rate lately for prepaid is unbelievably high. I might as well register as a postpaid user.
Thanks for sharing your S2 experience and happy mylotting.

I have the same phone. I had the same problems when I first got the phone. To resolve the issues, I reset it back to factory settings. Doing this though, will wipe out your contacts and any apps and settings you installed after getting the phone. If you backup your contacts or write them down and make note of any apps so you can re-install them, you should be fine. Re-setting back to factory settings might fix your phone.

Hello Jeltroy
You do not have to do any of those sort if you have gmail account which you shud as u r using smartphone and downloading apps from play store.
in ur contacts setting tick an option to save ur contacts in gmail account. So when u lose ur phone or have it reset it is always there in gmail contacts cloud. U just have to assign same account with ur smartphone next time.
And about apps it is always downloaded using ur gmail account which means same thing like contacts, ur is always there in cloud. Or else buy wud have to buy again all paid apps.
I hope it helps you next time if u have to root ur phone or upgrade new phone.

Hello riinup
Let me say this straight, its normal in smartphone.
They have bigger processor, produce more heat when u use it all its core for long time. Take it as playing highly graphic games in ur computer with less graphic ram.
But if it is too much then u can always send it back to shop where you purchase it and have it exchanged.
And about abnormal activities like self shut down, have you upgrade ur phone's software? Its in settingsabout phonesoftware upgrade. most of the time it solves many problem. Give it a go.
I hope it helps you some way around. Cheers

The internal memory is probably not large enough to handle games because the longer you play the more memory it will take. This probably happen to other smart phones. According to me galaxy SII is one of Samsung best product for Android phones.

I have that phone too and it's not bad at all
just make sure you keep your self up to the latest android version released by Samsung
I'm on ICS right now (4.0.3)
There will be 4.2 or 4.1 in the future(Jelly Bean) as Samsung confirmed to still support it. Sadly Galaxy Tab 1 hasn't got it's name on the list.
Enjoy ur great phone

i haven't a samsung galaxy 2 but i think it can be normal because you use it to play and may be you use emulators and so your phone must be hot due to the high graphic concetration...it is not normal that it frozes or shut down so may be you can control more your gaming session because a smartphone is not a gaming consoles and so has limits especially from a gaming point of view!!

i agree with you, this is the problem with all smart phones, it gets really hot and i noticed this too with my S3 that it gets really hot as well when i am playing games for a long time. I even worry if i might have problems or issues eventually but i was told this is normal with smart phones ( to be heated up).
what i notice though is that when the graphic is too large, it sometimes force closes but never freezes on my (S3).

I used the S2, until a wek ago, when I upgraded to the S3. I never really had any problems with the S2 freezing up on me. The battery did drain rather quickly though, but if I didn't use it to heavily, then the battery would last 2 days. I can get 2 days on the S3 battery, but it is harder to do so, as it gets used up quicker. That is the worst part is the battery, but I can get an extended battery for it, which will be bigger and last much longer. I am not really all that intensive user of my cell phone. I will post in here, but I try to do that, when I am charging it up, as it won't matter anyway. The galaxy S2 is a good pho0ne, but the S3 is even better, and faster. I hope you have lots of fun with your phone, and take care. Have a very good day.
