hi mylotters. is it ok for me to learn the violin when I am already 26 years old. i am anxious about this. it has been my dream when I was still a child but I fear that I cant take the hardness of the lessons and that my fingers may not take the challenge. but I really really envy those who know how to play the violin. what do you think guys?

If it's really your dream and what you most wish in your life, you should carry on to realize your dream and don't listen to those who might tell you that you could be too old for it. Even if it's right that most people start to learn a musical instrument they usually start within their childhood, that doesn't never mean that an adult person isn't able to do so. Maybe for a child it's easier than for an adult, children may learn easierly, but that still doesn't mean that you can't. Definitly, you should start to learn how to play the violin.

That is not a problem girl,as long as you have the well being to learn and become skilled, then go and have your exclusive lessons in a good school of music.Remember that you got to have that willingness and enthusiasm to learn how to play it because it could make you successful to become a great violinist, someday.

as of the moment all I want is to learn how to play the violin and becoming a great violinist someday is already far from what I want but then maybe I can be someday if I give my all - willingness and enthusiasm

It's never too late to pursue your dreams. Even if learning the violin is hard, it is still not too hard if you really like what you are doing. I've tried learning the violin and it was easy.

I don't think that it is too late to learn to play the violin. It is true that many people start when they are very young, but that doesn't mean that you can't learn it when you are older. A friend of my parents decided to learn to play a musical instrument when he was 75 and he got very good at it. In your situation I would try it. Even if it turns out that you don't manage to learn it I think that it is better to try, because you will know that you have done what you could and you have nothing to regret. Trying and failing is better than failing to try, but I think that you will succeed because it sounds like you are very passionate about it and willing to work hard

hi there porcospino. i like your line "trying and failing is better than failing to try". I will keep that in mind so that I dont get weak in achieving my goal. I am now currently fixing my finances before I go and venture into this new goal. take care

Well life is a journey wherein we would try different things.
It is ok for you to try it as long as you have the determination, hard work and passion on it.It would really hard at first, but through your willingness to learn a certain things, for sure you will be good on it and even best as you continue to strive.

what I am afraid is that I may lose my hard work and determination in the middle of my lessons and I am afraid that I will learn less or slowly since I am already of age. but then I guess I have to prepare myself for it so that I can achieve my goal

Hi,
I think you should go for it without fear because you dreamed it from your childhood. My son is also fond of playing musical instruments. He can play synthesizer and now he is willing to go for a guitar class. He bought a guitar 7 months ago but due to his job he is not getting time for it. But he decided to learn it whenever he get the time. You will not feel it hard to play violin because it is your dream.

Hi,
I think you had better have a try no matter what the result will be. If you never try, you will never have a chance to realize your dream. If you try, even if you can't play it well, you will be closer to your dream. Nothing will be difficult if one works it many times. Come on, may your dream come true!
