Ancient China had been kept opened to the world till Song and Yuan Dynasty but closed in Ming Dynasty. But Guangzhou was still kept as the only opened sea port to most of the trading overseas. Guangzhou became the biggest port at that period. In Qing Dynasty, Portugal army once invaded into Guangzhou and was beat by Ming army and the Portugal army quited from Guangzhou to Macao but had monopoly the trade in Guangzhou. Guangzhou became capital city of Guangdong province since Qing Dynasty.
