Check the restricted assignments on Helium - it's worth it!

These days, there aren't many restricted assignments on Helium. Over the last couple of months, there have been a few investment titles for around $40, but that's pretty specialised. Last week, I spotted a title for National Family Fitness Day, which asked for some background on the obesity epidemic and information on NFFD. As I specialise in that sort of writing, I thought I'd have a go. I wrote the article, then forgot about it, as there were 4 other writers in contention. Tonight I got the email - my article was selected and I'm $64 better off! As you can imagine, I'm really delighted - it's the most I've ever been paid for a single article, and I got it on Helium. I thought it was worth reminding other Helium members to check the restricted assignments whenever you log in, just in case there's something there that's right up your street. Have you snagged any restricted assignments?

Wow! Congratulation and thanks for the information. I really like Helium but I have not had the time to get well acquainted with the site. I work part time. Sometimes we have no projects but right now, we are very busy and my freelance writing is on hold until work hours get reduced. It will happen eventually. However, I do rate every day for about 10 minutes and I occasionally leapfrog some of my articles. I checked the restricted assignments. There is nothing for my group. I do not understand what is meant by restricted assignments and my group. Do I need to join a group? If so, how do I do that?

It's just that some restricted assignments are only available for writers with a certain number of writing stars - usually 3. You're automatically placed in that 'group' if you have the necessary stars, you don't need to do anything. If there are assignments you qualify for, they will show up on the 'restricted' tab. It's worth checking at least once a day just in case.

Well, I now have two writing stars. I will keep checking from now on as well as work my way, eventually, to three stars.

Carry on leapfrogging low ranking articles and you'll soon have the three stars. Another good way of lifting your writing score is to write to titles with a lot of articles that you know a lot about and could basically write the article with no research. You'll get there!

I would so be ready to check out the restricted assignments on Helium, but the fact is simple - I have no writing stars. I believe this mainly has to do with my English language, English is not my native thus I tend to make some gramatical mistakes.

That is very kind of you - but that is my general experience, most of the Helium members are so helpful to each other, a reason I am happy to be a part of the Helium community. I shall send you a message tomorrow on Helium and would be most happy to receive some advice if you find some clear points standing out :)

Downwindz, just keep leapfrogging your articles, and you'll soon pick up those stars. Your English is pretty good judging by your posts here, so it really is worth leapfrogging the low ranking articles. Message me on Helium - my home page link is on my profile page - and I'll take a look at some of your stuff and see if I can come up with any suggestions to help you gain those all-important stars.

I haven't had a chance to check out Helium yet (I did check out the other site you told me about and signed up). That's wonderful that your piece was selected and that you were paid so much! What is the difference between a restricted assignment and an investment title?

Sorry - maybe I didn't make that clear. The investment titles were articles listed in the restricted assignments. Like 'Invest in Coca Cola,' for example, where the article would be about the pros and cons of such an investment. I'm not big on personal finance and investment articles, so I avoid them. When publishers are paying that sort of money, they want authoritive articles, so you can't expect to be chosen if you're blagging it a bit. Glad you signed up on Postloop. It takes a while to get into the swing of it, but it's worth it.

Hi, That is a great news. I am not visiting helium for more than 1 year. I will go back to check it out. Thanks for the tips.

So that's where the better paying titles went! I was poking about the other day and couldn't find anything offerning more than $2. I'll have to check those restricted titles on a regular basis from now on!

Yes, I am glad to be back and in the lap of electrical luxury. I don't think I know anything about the Content Source page. I'll have to look into that also.

Hello, Canellita - good to see you back online and safe. I check the restricted tab at least twice a day, just in case there's anything I can take a stab at. It's also worth taking a look at the Content Source page once a week - that's how I got my last good paying assignments.
