Ah, the 80's. I'm wearing my Tom Tom Club T-shirt and remembering the days. If you don't remember the Tom Tom Club - they were a girl band (?) started by a woman that was in the Talking Heads. I'd go search now for her name but then I'd have to retype this discussion, so bear with me. The Tom Tom Club did "Pleasure of Love" and it was great. They had a whole album that was great to listen to. I was a Big Sister back in the day and my little sister, 10-years old at the time, LOVED that album. Don't think she understood the lyrics, but the beat, the melody was fun.
AND for those who remember, what was your favorite Talking Heads song? I'm conflicted, it's between Psycho Killer and Take Me to the River...and there's probably a list of them that would come back to me. So someone remind me!

I grew up in the 80s-I liked the Talking Heads. There was SO much good music though that it's hard to pick just one or two songs! I do really like Burning Down the House, so that might be my favorite. Tina Weymouth was the woman in the Talking Heads. Do you know the name of the band they first opened for, and where that was?

I remembered Tina Weymouth's name after I made the post. Was she the drummer? Anyway, I had to look up who the opened for and when I read it I do remember hearing that - The Ramones in CBGC in NYC. How appropriate!
My husband plays in a band and they do a lot of music from that era and thankfully added Take Me to The River and that's only cuz the keyboardist likes doing his part I guess. Me and the keyboardist have different tastes in music, I like him and all but..
You'd think they would take the advise of a veteran barfly of the 70s and 80s. I know what will get them up dancing but do they listen to me, nooooo
