Does the mailman changing their routine throw your whole day off?

I don't know what is going on this week, but our mail person who normally shows up before one has been appearing after 3. It's almost 4:30 now and we still have not gotten our mail. I'm not really waiting for anything, but I'm used to him coming the same time. Part of my day is walking to get the mail during my daughters nap.
Does this happen to you?

It only bothers me when I am expecting a specific piece
of mail...and he is off schedule ...otherwise when he is
off schedule it does not bother me at all...There are so
many other things I can be doing while the mailman makes
his way to my mailbox, without any problem....

Actually, for me, getting the mail is not part of my regular routine. I usually get the mail when I remember to look. My routine is work, exercise, and rest. In some days of the week, I does fluctuate, but that is life. We do not have control of a lot of the things that happen. We can either dwell on that fact or just move on. Personally, I just move on so it does not ruin the rest of my day. In my general residence area, the mailman comes usually between 1 PM to 3 PM, but it's not too troublesome if he decides to show up a bit later. For the most part, I don't usually expect a letter or magazine subscription for me to come very often.

Mail comes here at such odd hours that I don't pay attention to when it comes any more. It has come as early as 10 AM and as late as 7 PM. It helps, though, that I have a mail slot and don't have to go out to get it. If I had to keep checking it and go out to get it, I wouldn't like it very well.

I wonder if they take vacations or there are new people on for some reason. THis could mess up their schedule considerably. It seems that as soon as you really start depending on an ongoing time that has been set for along time something always happens to mess it up. Murphy's law I think.

It never happened to me. Most of the letters we received from the mailman are billing statements and he would usually leave that in our mailbox. Most of the communications we got from relatives and friends are being sent through emails or they will just call us on our cellphones.

Well, my husband is a mail man and there are times that he can not really make it on time. Like the weather conditions and other matters that would cause some delays. Perhaps you could put up a mail box so that you won't be spending much time waiting.

Yes, for sure, it messes me up royally when he's not here on time.
I buy items on Ebay besides selling stuff too, but, when something is coming to me in the mail I like when he's on time so he can ring my buzzer and hand it to me.
This is because I live in an apartment and the mailbox is just big enough to hold a mouse. I have a note on the mailbox NOT to leave anything out for me but to take it back to the P.O. and I'll pick it up....which presents another problem for me, haha. You can't trust no one in these apartments and this is why I do that.
I don't have a car so I have to borrow my daughters car to go to the post office and that might be days away if she's working too far. So, you can see my dilemna which actually sounds funny now that I'm talking about it. But anyways, to answer your question, yes, it sure does throw me off, hahaha!!
