A few days ago, I went out of town with my boyfriend. We saw some pretty flowers along the way. I saw one flower that caught my eye - a ginger flower. It was something I had never seen before in my city. When he was about to buy one piece of that flower for me, the lady gave me, not one, but two additional flowers for free! I was so happy that it made my day. It's wonderful how a simple act of kindness could mean so much to me. How about you, have you experienced such kindness from a vendor? Share your experience.

A very similar thing happened to me about 10 years ago, and I hadn't thought of it until I read your post. The florist that I occasionally ordered flowers from was family run. The elderly woman of the family was the original owner. She was maybe in her 80's. I had never seen her before. On this particular day she was in the shop and as I was waiting for my arrangement to be made up she came over and started talking to me about how she & her husband had started the shop, etc. It was interesting to me and she was so nice. Then she asked if I would like to see outside in the back where they had first started growing their flowers. She took me on a tour, it wasn't a huge area, maybe as big as 2 large backyards. It only took about 15 minutes altogether and we went back inside. My flowers were ready and she reached over and picked a beautiful rose from a bunch behind the counter and gave it to me. She was smiling so brightly and I thanked her so much. She told me I was so nice to listen to her going on about the shop. I left and, walking back to my car I realized that I was smiling. I got in the car, looked in the mirror and I had a smile on my face that wouldn't go away. It was such a nice thing for her to do. And it made my day. I know exactly how you felt!

Wow, it's nice to hear a similar experience from you. This nice vendor I've mentioned is also an elderly woman, and her family grows the flowers themselves too. I was also smiling ear to ear. I was so happy I wouldn't even leave the flowers in the car and even brought them into the restaurant.

Strange but wonderful. Nice to know that there's another lady out there who is as nice as the lady I've met in the market.

Wow! That is so nice of the vendor. Maybe she saw your face lit up when you saw the flowers that's why she gave you additional ones. I don't think I haven't seen a ginger flower though. I usually see roses, daisies and carnation when I go to some of the flower stalls near our place. There's not much choices.

It's because I love flowers. Yes, me too, it was my first time to see a ginger flower. It looks like plastic flower. I thought it was fake at first. Oh I took a picture of it, I would look for it and upload here sometime.
And speaking of carnations, I love them! Especially the pink or violet variety. Their colors are very soothing to the eyes.

oh so that is a ginger flower?? now i know! We have that at my brother-in-law's garden! he sells those plants too and they call it TORCH flower as it looks like a flaming torch..
he planted it at first for his wife..and then eventually they started selling it too among other plants they sell.

Wow, that's wonderful! I wish I had a garden too. But it's impossible because I live in a building. It was the first time I'd seen such flower. Yes it looks like a flaming torch, and it's quite heavy for a flower.

Awww that's so sweet. It's always a pleasant surprise to have someone do things like those for you. One time we were on tour and were buying some candied peanuts from a vendor. She gave us lots of freebie peanut candies when she noticed we were tourists!

Some vendors are really generous! Those are the type of vendors I would love coming back to.

Me, too. Unfortunately, we were only visiting that place, so, chances are that I won't buy from her again. Loved her candied peanuts!

It's nice to know that there are still nice vendors out there. A lot of them aren't very honest just so they could earn a bit more. That lady is very generous and obviously, she doesn't really care much about her earnings.
Right now, I can't think of any instance of having shown kindness and generosity from a vendor.

She is indeed very nice. If only she sells near our house, I would definitely go to her shop regularly and buy a lot of flowers from her.
