oh yes, and my reason for blocking my ex is to find out if he really cares for me. or could I say if he is really done and I am nothing to him. But unfortunately I un-blocked him because he calls me several times, he wants to be friend to me and attempt to be with me again but though it's a very complicated situation and I called it sweet revenge. Make ex crazy = mission accomplished :)

Hi!
Have not had any such occasion or opportunity to block anyone.
By the way the world is so small, if he is determined and wishes to reach you, he would reach by any means, so be aware of him.

Am sure he is still interested to find out about you sfter going solo. Blocking him from your facebook might be the best option if there is no chance of reconciliation. Since he is now a history life must continue to a fresh start with a new guy.. I would have done the same thing.

Well, i haven't experienced that my friend, because during our times , there is no internet and FB yet.
But had i had a bad break-up with my boyfriend, i would also block him in my FB. However, if we still remain friends and have ended in a nice manner, i won't. It would be nice to know who is the new woman in her life and vice versa.

well i can not tell surely , may be for some days i will blocked her but after that i can unblock her. if she means nothing to me then why should i block her. i just let go. but she really want to see my page she can open new account ,so by blocking any one we can not get freedom on facebook ,we have to ignore them. that is the right way to kick their "@#&@*".

My gf refuses to use facebook from privacy concerns, and I've known her longer than I've used it myself..so I' ve yet to experience a fb breakup and its aftereffects!

One ex did block me on Yahoo. I deleted my ex husband on Facebook 2 years ago. I don't think he's noticed yet.

I was only connected to one of my exes, and I definitely made a point of blocking him. After what he did, blocking him was the only acceptable course of action.
Actually, I think that it is generally good to block exes (and the exes of one's children and siblings). It is easier to move on with one's life if one doesn't have those ties to the past.

One, keep personal off of facebook.. PERIOD
Second, he has friends or can start another account
third, so make sure you have your privacy set for that as well
fourth, stay out for awhile, that surely will keep it guessing..

Well all the times that I was with someone else which was like 10 years or so back, I never had a facebook, so there is no need to block an ex from my facebook. I am not friends with any of my ex's so I never would have added them to my facebook, that I do now have. Now I am married and my husband is my friend on my facebook, so if we were to break up and are no longer friends, then I would probably block him from my facebook. It would depend on how our relationship ended and stuff like that.

Even before we broke up, we always have a lot of misunderstanding/fighting... I've already deleted him, and never added him up again even when he was trying to add me up. But I never blocked him. Coz even if I blocked him he would still see photos of me or even know updates about me through our common friend.

It appears you are so not over yet because of how you still wonder how your ex would feel after he finds out he is blocked. Anyway, it would be a good idea if it was a bad breakup. It would also be a better idea if you are to make sure you do not see any of his updates because you might just get hurt if he replaces you sooner than you expected.
This is how breakups are more difficult with facebook. Before you just break up and do not see each other for as long as you can. Now, facebook makes the wound fresh everytime.

Sometimes, I block but not all.One of my ex ask my friend, why he cannot see my facebook account. I hate exes that talks about the past that is why I block them. I feel so annoyed chatting to them when they see me online and I cannot stand looking at their profile.
