Get yourself a cat! Cats love to chase spiders and cockroaches and eat them!

Yes I think that they would have killed more than that, you just don't see them. I think that they will be fine for the cats to eat.

Hi,
I am not freakish when some animals share my room. I have this really big gecko on the attic that made a territorial claim of the ceiling and cabinets. Then a big spider hides inside among my clothes with the roaches and an occasional mice with the house lizards and one green tree lizard. I don't mind them as long as they keep to themselves, we are careful to avoid each other but I observed a cat and mouse game exist between them. The gecko lording it over all, eating anything it can lay its paws on, the spider gobbling up the flies and mosquitoes that stray into its domain and the roaches having a hard time with them all. I appreciate the balance of their existence, I like them the way it is, just an occasional pause every now and then to let them scamper out of my way when I happen to come over them accidentally.
Now for snakes, well, that's another matter. I have to control the shrieks from my wife and two little kids having a hard time convincing them that house snakes are not poisonous and I can always recognize the poisonous ones. Still, for them a snake is a snake and I'm sorry for the little, err, long creature's untimely demise every time it strays to my house.

Tell me about snakes! When I allowed one of my cats to go out (spayed and neutered of course ) he found a snake, it was the only one I ever saw coming to the yard and I didn't know what to do, I couldn't kill the snake of course, he was an animal but I was freaking out my cat wouldn't leave it alone and I was afraid the snake was going to bite them. I brought a wood stick and kept scarring both to both back out, now that I think of it I must have been so funny yelling at them both. In the end I grabbed my cat and got a lot of scratches as I knew he'd do to me cause he was rescued as an adult so I was sure he was used to hunting and at that moment I couldn't blame him if he saw me as just an obstacle to his hunting. He said he was sorry later on, lol.

I also have a problem with roaches and spiders. But I am more concerned with the existence of roaches in my house than the spiders. Roaches can bring a lot of disease that can be very harmful, especially for my 4 year old boy. I am also looking for a long time remedy to get rid of roaches.

free range chickens will do it, but I don't think you want them in your house. You can also buy the poison that the professional pest control people use and spray your home inside and out. Cockroaches carry illness and get into everything, while spiders eat bugs and usually won't hurt you unless they feel you are going to hurt them. Unfortunately the understanding between spiders and humans often are not clear.

It's just that eight legs creeps me out, LOL. Yes cockroaches are the concern, hubby says that we should keep spider here. I just wished all of them lived but away from me hehehe.
Oh I'd love have chickens! Specially if they were rescued from slaughter houses, but I can't because I have cats, I'm sure the bigger one, the male might hurt them. I took him from the streets too late, he was like 3 and very used to hunt I think.
Oh there are these chickens and a duck in a neighbors house, everytime we pass in front of it we have to go slow so I can see those beauties alive and happy, I'm sure the guy have them as companions and not for their eggs and meat. They are so cute, they have this hudge territory to explore but they stay together, hahahaha.

Hi katie: You can't get rid completely of them because they are looking for the food that is in your house. Even with that, you should not be afraid of cockroaches and spiders. I understand you love animals. Think about them as animals and don't be afraid of them.

Hehehe! I actually don't see cockroaches as animals but I'm doing an 'exercise' everyday and trying to look to the spiders when I have a chance, and believe me, they come here a lot. I live just nearby this bamboo land and there are all kinds of creepy things here. I find insects so disgusting... Not like animals

Other than spraying not sure. I am with you on the spider thing I hate them myself.I live in Tennessee and I see quite a bit of spiders not big ones but big enough to me. I never had to deal with spiders like this when I lived in Michigan I guess it is a southern thing.

Hahaha! I feel the same way, too whenever I see spiders and cockroaches. I think with cockroaches, you can get rid of them by having clean environment. With spiders, am not sure. They just sometimes shows up.
