Experience living in London, UK?

My boyfriend and I will get marry soon. And one of the plans his family have is to have us a new life together in London. He is a citizen from other country and I am living here in Philippines. His family is temporary living here in Philippines and soon they will not come back to the Philippines because of bad experiences happened. Anyway, I have a question. What are your experience living in London? How much will be the cost of living there? And if there is a possibility to work do you think I am qualified to study or maybe work in London? Please share your advice. This is will be helpful to me. Thanks.
