i actually love computers with out computers today we would be no where i mean we wouldnt be on this site without a wonderful man invented the interweb. when i leave school i plan on becoming a computer programmer my dream is that i will make a computer program worthy of being included with the windows package, i would also like to make my own computer before i croak but thats a different matter i just think with out IBM and MAC i just think the world would be the same. the thinks that can be done on a computer is endless you can program app for iphones and android, you can code a virus to piss of your friends, you can stay intouch with friend and relatives, you can even play games. my personal favorites are minecraft, tekkit, borderlands, plants vs zombies and many more but to draw this article to an end i would just love to make a shout out to steve jobbs one of the greatest men to ever live, R.I.P

Hundreds even thousands of people were part of making computers and the internet what it is today, a few became famous but most have been forgotten, though their work continues. Take James Gosling, we use his work everyday on computers, but few people even know his name, but if you mention Java and Sun systems everyone knows his work. Computers have changed the world and will continue to do so, and hopefully many more people will create amazing programs that will improve our computers and the internet.

Hi,
My favorite was Charles Babbage (1791-1871) who invented the first programmable computer out of mechanical parts. Clanking, hissing huge machines like dinosaurs of the Jurassic Era, they were the forerunners of modern digital electronic "Analytical Engines."
Nowadays, most users of today's computers don't realize how far this machine has gone considering the mathematics and science involved in its development. I don't understand the gripe they put on the slower-running machines, put on the dust bin for the latest models.
If they only know the long march the developers has expended just to make a single chip that can calculate complex mathematical problems in a matter of seconds... they should remember the Babbage Machine with its whirring gears and punched cards just to calculate that one and one and one is three.

The Babbage machine, is quite beautiful. The thing is that the more you look into each person, and into each creation you realize that it seems like building blocks. The fact that every little thing that exist now in a computer has a background or creator is mind blowing, something as simple as the letters that appear onscreen would not be possible if the press had not been made, the press existed because people had invented a form of writing to keep and pass down ideas. The semiconductor, the advent of electricity, the telephone, radio waves all taken for granted now but a while back it was the most amazing invention. The thing is each invention has maybe one or two people we associate to the invention yet many more worked on it and perfected it. It is always fun to research though.
