From 8 Pesos to 10 Pesos Minimum Jeepney Fair

I say "no" to this! P8 is already expensive for commuters who are earning minimum wage. If the government would consider the Land Transportation Franchising Regulation Board's (LTFRB) petition for fare increase, they should also increase the workers' salary.

Remembering the cost of living in the 60's,there is a big difference if compared nowadays. Inflation have even made it worse/ I remember as a kid paying 10 centavos minimal jeepney fare and 8 ounce soft drinks is 10 centavos as well.

Yes,my mom likes to reminisce about the good old day. She bought her wedding shoes for only P20.And right, she also told about the prices of softdrinks. When I was in first grade, there was this kind of soda -I think was called "cheers"-that I used to drink after school,it cost around P2.50.

Oh yes, that "Cheers" and "Sarsaparilla" soft drinks of the old days quite refreshes my summer days.

I live in Caloocan City and I work in Taguig. I spend 70 pesos a day for my fare. I hope that they will not approve the fare increase

I heard from the news few days ago that there will be an oil price roll back so the fare increase might be postponed.

Indeed its a very ridiculous big increase. So I also don't accept such big increase. That's th the biggest increase in the transportation in all time in our country

That's 3 pesos higher. They have been reporting that the economy is getting better but I don't feel it. I've heard about biofuel, but I am not knowledgeable about this, what I know is, it can be used as an alternative for gasoline and diesel. If the price of diesel has skyrocketed, I think it's time to consider using biofuel. I heard it also doesn't have much negative effects in our environment.

I am in favor of this! Being a student, it is really hard for me to spend 10 pesos just for a minimum fair, Its to much! :)

The government should do something about it. I really do not think that they should increase the jeepney fare because not all people are earning much. I agree that they should increase also the minimum wage.

Their reason was that, the price of diesel increased to P43 per liters.

OMG. Is this for real? I'll just walk if ever that happens. I think that's too much for a fare. :( And I totally agree, before they increase the fare and other prices, they should increase the salary first. I hope the government could hear us.

This is going to be a bad news for me. Imagine an increase of Php10 ($0.02) for my 3 rides to work is a bad joke. This is not going to help me at all since if you count Php10 for 20 working days, that's Php200 and you can do much more for that Php200. I'm working hard and never gets complain when not getting my salary increase but increasing fares, groceries and other important amenities will definitely hurt me and my budget. Hope they should resolve a better roll back for these basics so the jeepney drivers and jeepney franchise won't demand a high fare hike to supply their basic needs as well. Let's start with (let's see... hmmmm) cutting taxes off in oil companies? Then that would be a better domino effect for everyone. Guess I have to mylot more to meet my expenses, like increasing fares, LOL. Happy mylotting everyone :)

Oh!Everything in the Philippines' expensive nowadays. The last time that I paid for a jeepney fair was 6 pesos. I can't imagine why the government cannot do something to help the people but instead they are trying their best to collect money from them. Collect and collect but there is no way that they could do something to help their countrymen in return.

It was really too much. Trasnport groups does not reduce the fares when the prices of fuel decreases. They give promise that they will reduce the fare once the price of fuel lowers but when it already happened, transport groups will find other reasons why they don't want to reduce the fare.

i would say no to that too! 8 pesos is already heavy for me, especially that our salary has not seen any raise since 2000. the government should give pity to us especially those who are marginalized or only with minimum pay, all the prices are going up and still they say that we are having a strong economy.

Are they high or something? And wha do we get in return for paying their ridiculous price ncrease, some crappy service from this agency? No way, man. Im also for the no in this. Where did they pluck this figure from? Shouldn't the commuters also have a say n this? The govern, ent really need to address this.
