Do you still eat popcorn when going to the movie theater?

Going to the movie theater has been something I have done since I was a child. While I do not go to the movies as frequently as I did in secondary school, I do go to the movies occasionally. It becomes more difficult to find some leisure time when you and your friends are busy with other responsibilities. Anyway, when you go the movie theater, do you still eat popcorn at the movies? Personally, as I have gotten older, I have become more health conscious and do not buy popcorn anymore.

I don't either. When I go I usually do have a soda...but the popcorn has been become so expensive that I don't indulge....I do have some candy but usually I sneak it in...otherwise it becomes a bigger expense then I am willing to pay for.

Yes, I totally understand what you mean about popcorn. While I do not buy popcorn, my friends still often do buy popcorn. The prices are out of control. And soda is still okay for me as well; however, I try not to indulge in soda unless I am at a party. Aside from less snacking, I have been trying to drink water more often. Thanks for your comment, jillhill.

I always get a small soda. If I am with a friend (as I always am when going to the movies), we always get candies. My friends like chocolate and I tend to go for the more fruity flavored candies, so we may get a pack of each and split them. I used to always get popcorn when I was younger, but I'm not as much of a popcorn eater now (nothing to do with health reasons though). If one of my friends orders popcorn, they'll usually offer me a handful or two, but that's enough for me. I guess it's so buttery and rich that I tend to get tired of the texture really fast... Come to think of it, I haven't been to a "normal" movie theater in years (I'm not a big movie goer). We have this theater in our local area that is also a restaurant (cinema grills, I've heard them called) - so they serve actual meals while the movie is playing. We seem to usually end up there when we see a movie and make a dinner night out of it. It's typically not more than several times a year though, because like I said, I'm not a huge movie person.

Hi Otanetix, yes I still eat popcorn when going to the movie theater especially with ice cold coke or bottled water. Last weekend my husband and I watched movie in the theater I had a cheese popcorn and my husband had BBQ popcorn. I think our movie dates was bot complete without popcorn's.

Popcorn lately has become more expensive than I would like to pay for. Most of the time I take my own products into the theater and eat them when I get into the showing. I love popcorn don't get me wrong it has just been too expensive in today's economy to buy the popcorn. I will buy a soda, but that is about it. My motto has been eat before the movies and go in full and focused.

Buttered popcorn tastes really good. But I am no longer going to the movie theater so I am unable to taste the buttered popcorn being sold int theaters anymore. But I still watch choice movies at home. Why spend for a movie theater when I can readily watch whatever movie I want at home? Of course here I can still eat home-made popcorn while watching and without spending that much.

Yes I still eat popcorn at the movies, I never though that someone wold stop eating popcorn as they get older even when they are just enjoying life . My mother still eat popcorn at the movies. You can can chose something else if you rater not eat popcorn, something with fruits or veggies is that's what your more into. I do believe you should still treat yourself sometime .

Same here, I used to like to munch on popcorn while watching movie. But now I just like to sit and just watch and concentrate on the movie. Just before going to the movie I will usually have my lunch or dinner so I don't really feel like doing other things, just want to sit back, relax and watch.

Now a days people are more health conscious but for me watching movie theater is not complete without popcorn, because in every theater there's always a popcorn for sale.

I used to eat pop corn every time as a kid but these days its gotten so expensive that I just do it on occasions. I like going to the cinema often so that's why I don't buy pop corn every time. If I don't I just like sneaking in treats that I buy from the supermarket that is in the shopping centre where the cinema I go to is.

Most always I get some popcorn but other times I might be in the mood for just a soda and candy instead of popcorn and soda. But we really don't go to the movies that much because me and my husband have to small children under the age of 2 years old so we can't go unless someone babysits for us and they are both to young to want to sit throw a movie right now.
