I'm curious to know how many of you obtained your drivers licence as soon as you were of age, or even if you have your licence at this point in your life. When you were growing up did you feel a lot of pressure to get your licence as soon as you were old enough? Also I know that in certain countries it's less common to have a drivers licence, where are you from? Thanks for commenting.

yesterday I had my drivers licence test and I failed. I was not interested and I gave the test not out of my interest. Any way I don't feel bad because I have failed in stuff far worse than this and have moved on.

I had my driver's license 3 years ago when I bought a new car. It is a must to have a driver's license when you are driving- or else you will end up in jail when caught driving without a license.

In the state where I grew up, one had to be 17 years of age with behind the wheel driver's education. I had a friend take me to the examination (he taught me to parallel park five minutes before my examination!) and then had my grandfather bring me to the DMV to obtain my official license. I went on my 17th birthday-my parents were stunned when I showed it to them that night at dinner-I don't think they expected me to have done that on my own. I had begun driving in a car when I was about 14; my mother took me out in a car she had borrowed from a friend (my parents both were driving stick shifts at the time). At 15, a friend of mine regularly took her parents car out at night (without their knowledge) and I learned to drive in it; I just didn't really go on the highways with it (I lived in the rural part of town, so there wasn't as much traffic); and at 16, I took behind the wheel at school, drove the car that was to be mine to drive a couple of times, and had friends (including the one who took me to my driver's test) and boyfriends that allowed me to practice. I'm currently still licensed in NJ, but my license expires in November and I now live in PA, so I guess I'll have to officially become a resident.

I am from the USA and don't have my license. I have my permit though and need to go ahead and get my license, I am 25 years old. I keep putting it off and making excuses for myself, but truth be told I just need to get it done as it'd give me more freedom.. I'm bad with money though.

I got my motorcycle license as soon as I was 18, because I like motorcycle. I got the car license 2 years later. In Greece nearly everyone has a license, and that doesn't mean that they knwo how to drive. It is very easy to get a license. Unfortunately. For me it is not a right but an obligation, an obligation to drive safely keeping in mind that a car/motorcycle could kill someone. There are a lot of people really not capable of driving since it is a very complicated procedure. Our mind is racing and each part of our body is doing something different.
