In my opinion, this is the WORST type of diet.It practically brings you 0,and takes a lot from you.I have friends who think that fasting is the only method that can help you losing weight."Simple.If you don't eat, your body takes what you want".
I think that if you don't eat,you don't provide(aside from nutrients) vitamins, minerals, things that are indispensable for your body. You force your body to run on 0,and it will eventually fight back!
What's your opinion on the "don't eat to lost weight" idea?

It also slows your metabolism down and when you start to eat normally again, you gain rather then lose weight. And of course you loose a lot of muscle. Not a good idea.

People who do not eat to lose weight are people who are too lazy to exercise. They don't want to move so they choose to starve themselves to lose weight. When you don't eat your metabolism will crash. Most people don't know that starvation will make them lose muscle mass, make their skin dry and saggy, and will actually make them feel awful. People who are always hungry develops depression and mood swings.

I agree that it is a bad idea! Along with not getting the vitamins and nutrients you need to function, your body would go into starvation mode. It seems that since the begining of time, if cavemen didn't have anything to eat, their body would go into starvation mode to keep them alive. Although a lot of things have evolved, this part of the body hasn't.

I read here a response on discussion if we not eat breakfast then increase the weight then how it is possible not eating means loose weight. I think our energy of work will loose after some time if not eat properly. Exercise is the most important way to loose the weight.

If you don't eat, your body goes into starvation mode. It isn't healthy and it is counter productive. You loose weight and your body eats away at itself.

A pleasant day Oktavist,
Loosing weight is not as easy as it is. Hence, it does not mean that if a person does not eat, he/she will really loose weight. If he/she does not eat, its not weight that he/she loosing, instead, he/she loosing energy. As the nutrients needed by the body was consumed as we move and do our daily routine. So in this regard, if a person does not eat, he/she will lost the energy needed by the body. Aside from that, our body will not function well, since there is no food to digest to be the energy of the body. The best way to loose weight is to do a routine exercise and have a balanced-diet of the food intake. Thus, this way is much better rather than not to eat at all. Not to mention, if a person do a regular exercise and eat the balanced-diet that the body needs, this will also prevent the body to become weak and sick.

With that kind of diet, you would not only lose weight, but would also make your immune system go down. Thus leading you to the hospital. The safest way to lose weight is to eat a balanced meal and avoid food that is rich in starch and sugar.

I totally agree with you that there are many other ways except eating to lose weight. lol, we should really take care of what our body needs and the concept is important. Do not care whether you are fat or thin, a healthy body can make you achieve anything.

We must to eat, because we need. I thinks if we eat regularly, then our bodies will be healthy. Not too thin. Not too fat.

I totally agree with you, well , don't eat anything will not help one losing weight but kill them slowly, no eating ,no intaking, no enery to do everything, it is quite common that peole donnot eating and they are suffering from Anorexia nervosa finally ,it is terrible. I think if you want to keep slim or to lose weight, you'd better keep a diet ,not eating so much or so little,to eat more green food not fast food.

Fasting is fine now and then. As a matter of fact, it's good for your body to fast sometimes. We were never meant to eat three meals a day every day of our lives. Observe the "epidemic of obesity" we have right now.
However, fasting often in the hopes of losing weight doesn't work. Our bodies were meant to hold on to fat so that we could fast when food was in short supply. That means that when we eat after a fast, our bodies go about getting everything it can from the food, not knowing when it is going to get more, so it stores as much as it can in the form of fat.

Dieting is controlling your food intake to get a result from your body..Starvation is not a Diet (or a recommended means of losing weight)..While it WILL cause weight loss,it will be at the expense of health issues while stored reserves of body fat and tissue get broken down to keep the metabolism going..probably the best method of weight loss would be following a calorie controlled diet, eating healthily, taking up some form of exercise, and making meals smaller, spreading them throughout the day so as not to feel hungry..the metabolism is encouraged to keep at a constant "burn" rather than in fits and starts at various times,so as to keep a constant gut workout going and you in control..

hi, yes , and that's not good for health at all, actually if we don't provide the body with the essential nutrients, it utilities all the fat which is stored in the body, that's also not good for health, so we should provide all the essential nutrients which are required by the body, instead of starving it, and do the regular exercise which is required.

I do agree with you that this kind of method for losing weight is worse. Its not an healthy way to lose weight. Because eating is very important in everyone's life. Through this, we could gain nutrients and power in order for our body to function well. :)

PeRsonally it's really not the right way to lose wait its a body wasting and it's really dangerous, as a medical practitioner I highly disagree with this type of habit, just eat the proper diet and do 30 minutes exercise its really help a lot. Let your freind to stop this habit it will just make herself hungry,.
