We all have heard the phrase “once in a blue moon” used to describe something that only occurs rarely or something unique. And last night the blue moon illuminated the night sky. Blue moon can also leave the inexperienced a little disoriented. And many people experience emotional and psychological turbulences which they are unable to understand completely. This perhaps is the reason why many unexpected incidences and experiences happen to people during the appearance blue moons. :)

But on your statement, what is this "Blue Moon" actually referring to? I mean, literally, I don't see the "Blue Moon" last night, and I believe that last night I had some trouble on my own trying to figure out some mathematical problem. It was work related, and I scratched my head all over, I just couldn't figure it out. What a bummer.

I can't sleep more than 5 hours at night for the last 3 days, I find myself waking from sleep in a sudden way early in the morning. I just started to sleep at nights instead of at the mornings as I used to do for a while. Thank you for the information. although I'm interesting in astrology and I can open amateur astrology map, I don't think I have heard about this phenomenon. I only knew about black moon. I realy glad you wrote about, now I'm going to read more about it.

I think there are no significant effect of the blue moon in your body. It is just a heavenly body phenomenon. High tide is one of its effect on our planet but to our body, I think it is just a myth.

I don't think there is an effect on man's emotional or psychological characteristics. What I knew off is, the moon had an effect the sea water level or the tides because of it's gravitational force just like the earth.
As you have said blue moon rarely occurs I think every 3 years. And the color of the moon is not blue. It is so called because it rarely happens, two full moon in a month.

I don't believe a "blue" moon has any real effect on people. The blue moon is simply what it is called when a second full moon occurs in the same month; the next one will be sometime in 2015. There is no more effect than a regular full moon. And I don't believe either has a real effect on anyone; any effect is just in their head like a fear of Friday the 13th or black cats or walking under a ladder. Any adverse effects are self inflicted and are not caused by anything in the physical world.

I don't know about effects of blue moon on us. I only know that it is the appearance of second full moon in a month. And every two and three years there is a extra full moon. On 31st Day of December 2009 we had the last extra full moon.
As moon has a role on sea tide, full moon may or may not be some effects on us. On my personal experience, I slept deep sleep and awake in the morning and have not noticed any difference/discomfort.
