open, look, close

I got socked with closing shift 2 days in a row. Yeah no fun getting out after 11pm, even worse I can't sleep right away or anything so I sit up for a couple hours online. (of course I need to get off FB and be on here to earn some $). When I closed on a regular basis I used to snack on something like an apple or even have dinner if I wasn't home for dinner. Sadly, I've gotten up a few times to get a drink of water and I keep looking in the fridge for something to nibble on. I'm behaving I just open the door, look, close it and walk away. I'm annoyed that I keep looking but happy that I'm only looking *LOL*.

I know the feeling. I deliberately keep very little food in the house that doesn't have to be cooked and that protects me from snacking. That reminds me of an old joke about why women gain weight after marriage. When they are single they come home, look in the fridge and go to bed. After marriage, they come home, look at what's in the bed and go to the fridge!

I need to just get rid of all the carbs it's soo hard not to want to snack on something and they are mostly carbs unless you buy produce of some sort. I will agree with the joke to a degree! The fridge is much more interesting sadly *LOL*

Yeah it's a battle allright! I try to tell myself that I need to drink a glass of water if I "NEED" that to nibble on and my glasses are not ity bity 8oz.... 16oz-44oz cups. Then I figure it evens out a bit especially with the 44oz water as if I have room to eat anything it's not much! *LOL*

This is the sort of stuff that will get you in trouble once you're off your diet. By not allowing yourself to eat when you want to, once you go off the diet and start eating when you want to again, you will put all the weight back on and then some. That is basically what happened with me. I tried to keep some of my healthier habits after I hit my goal weight.. but slowly the bad habits came back as did the weight. Now I'm right back to where I started. It may help you lose weight now.. but it's not going to help you in the long run. What you should do instead is find a healthier option. If you feel you need to snack, even though it's late, find healthy foods to eat that are satisfying. This way you're replacing a bad habit with a good one and are more likely to continue this type of habit even after you've stopped dieting so you won't gain your weight back.

Bunnie! Problem is you are not placing anything in you fridge and you are looking for something to eat at night! lol! So that only you are not able to get anything to nibble! Probable you can place something that you like to eat so that you will nibble tonight whatever that you have placed!

Yes Snuggles that has happened to me before also..I mean I know I am not hungry but because I am still awake I feel I should be snacking on something...So I have made those exact trips tp the fridge , opened, looked and closed....LOL,,,

Oh! we have same situation. Before i got lots of junkfoods to buy before I go home at 11pm and not just junkfoods, i got also ice tea, burgers etc. After I saw my situation and realized that this isn't really healthy, I really planned hard to change. As for me today, I see to it that I only have fresh fruits on the fridge for me to eat at midnight. That would be fine for snacks.
