Do you procrastinate?

The time we are blessed with is limited and tends to be used up all too quickly. How we utilize that time is one of the most important decisions we make. Yet it is far too easy to put off until tomorrow what we can do today. The hectic pace of modern existence affords us an easy out but consider the question “why not now”? We procrastinate for many reasons, from a perceived lack of time to a legitimate lack of self-belief, but the truth of the matter is that there is no time like the present and no time but the present. Whatever we aim to accomplish, we will achieve it more quickly and with a greater degree of efficiency when we seize the day and make the most of the resources we have at our disposal right now. We need only remind ourselves that there is nothing standing between us and fulfillment. When we decide that today is the day we take our destiny into our hands, we will discover that we hold the keys of fate.

Sometimes I feel that I procrastinate because I am addicted to cramming... or sometimes I feel that the task at hand is easy and won't take me hours to finish. There are a lot of reasons but I feel that I procrastinate because I am self-confessed slacker.

hi dear Pose sorry if I dont quite agree with you. With the fast pace we all have to have in life now something really has to give and to be postponed. We all have the same amount of time everyday with 24 hours but they are packed full. The technical appliances make our life easier but using them does not mean we have more time on our hands for all the other chores to be done but we are expected to work more and more and do more and more and end up like a mouse in its running wheel.
The only way out sometimes seems to go and do the easy chores first cause this will give me a feeling of success. It makes a difference whether I can cross 10 things off the to do list which are relatively easy to cope with or I only have crossed out 5 which are more time consuming.

I have been known to put off things, but then I realize that I worry about getting them done. More energy is spent in worry than if I just stopped what I was doing and did what needed to be done in the first place. Blessings

Beautifully expressed and of course you are so right. Regretfully, I am a bit of a procrastinator and it is something that I have to figt against constantl. So I make lists and do the least pleasant task first to get it out of the way. I then feel quite good about myself and what I have accomplished

Hello Pose. I am the type of person who procrastinates in doing what I am supposed to do if I could. I know that this is a very bad habit to me and I have been trying to correct it. Sometimes I do a good job, but sometimes not. Now that I have further realized the importance of being punctual instead of procrastination, I need to totally improve myself. Thanks so much for the convincing contents in the discussion. I appreciate it for its great quality and will be a better person not to procrastinate. Have a good time, Pose.

I procrastinate a lot and I think it's because I'm a person who lives very much in the moment. However, when I do make the decision to force myself to do something straight away instead of putting it off, I usually feel better afterwards.

I don't like to procrastinate. If I can get it done today I rather get it done and out of the way. To many people put things off till its too late and then they complain about it. I like making a list of the things I need to get done in a day and mark it off as I go along. This is the way I love to operate it makes me feel like I accomplished something and didn't waste a day doing nothing. Don't get me wrong though there are maybe one day a month I don't mind just sitting around watching movies and munching out, especially on a rainy day.

I'm not particularly sure why I have the mindset to procrastinate, but it just feels more soothing than doing the work now and then play later. This has been particularly a problem when I upload YouTube videos, but I do compensate for it.

I value time and one of the things that I make sure to do to manage it wisely is to be always on time on my appointments. Waiting for someone and letting someone wait for you is by far the most wasteful of time for me. But even though I have so much respect for a person's time and I have high regards for time management, there are still times that I procrastinate. It's just that I tend to drag on the execution of something due to a number of reasons which could range from just being plain lazy to not having the confidence that I will be able to do it properly. My husband doesn't like this and he helps me cope up when I tend to procrastinate. I know it's not a good habit and with baby steps, I'm trying to break it.

Absolutely, I procrastinate daily lol. I know there are things I should be doing but there is usually something more exciting to do instead.

Yes, while using our time wisely is important, I have to admit that I do procrastinate at times. Generally, I hate the fact that I engage in it but I find myself often distracted by other things in life. Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed with other responsibilities; at other times, it can be hearing about sales for items that interest me or a new episode of one of my favorite television programs. I cannot say that I am proud of making excuses, which hinders myself from accomplishing a task of higher priority. Time management is often something everyone needs to learn; otherwise, you will not be able to function through your day properly, which may mean some of your tasks will not have been completed for the day.
