my bf wants to start his own business on the internet. surely there's risk for this. i'm a traditional chinese girl and hope to have a permanent life with a regular salary. i don't know if this is right for him and i'm afraid of the risk, but i promise to be his supporter for ever. what should i do to face his determination to start his own business. and he's already leave his job.

There are risks involved with everything you do, and that includes working for other people (since the company you work for could cease trading or you could be sacked etc). Starting your own business definitely isn't risk-free, but a good entrepreneur does everything he/she can to limit the risks. My advice to your boyfriend would be to follow his dream, but make sure he's got a contingency plan for if the business fails. Also remember that many people set up successful businesses after failing the first few times - learning from their mistakes is something else that entrepreneurs do! Good luck.

Chairman Mao once said, "If you want to know the taste of a pear, you have to take a bite." I think that it is true indeed. Only when you have tried can you know whether it is a wise choice. In starting your own business, you need to make a market analysis to see what kind of business is good to you and interests you. Since your bf is determined to start own business, he must already have his own ideas. I wish him to succeed with good luck and his effort and wisdom. Take care.

Starting any business is always a risk. It is just a matter if it's the risk that you are willing to make. Business is also a gamble. We are not always sure that we will be successful with the business that we have in mind or have started. But, we will really never know unless we start one, right? But just a reminder for you boyfriend:
1. is the business offered for a limited number of people/companies?
2. how much money is he willing to spend on this?
3. is it a kind of business that is unique?
4. what can he offer that will make him out-stand from his competitors?
