Watch this: http://www.upworthy.com/jon-stewart-cuts-through-the-hypocrisy-of-the-rnc-in-less-than-8-minutes
Jon Stewart explains how he saw the RNC and Clint Eastwood's attempt to prove a point. He put how I pretty much feel into words more eloquently than I ever could.
Sidenote: how can anyone take Clint Eastwood seriously? The pieces I have seen he looks bad - almost on death's door bad. If we were in a nursing home and saw someone talking to an empty chair, we would shake our heads, assume they were senile, but I guess it's okay for a Hollywood actor to do crazy things.

Stewart is pretty much a die hard liberal who so many times has put out things that he thinks are humorous that much less sense than Clint Eastwood's speech. Eastwood is 82 and still making very good movies and still has an active career. What will you be doing at 82?

Hopefully I will be left alone at 82 lol I don't want to be working that long!
My point is, that the RNC is making up this evil President that doesn't exist when Romney himself attacked Obama after 8 days in office saying he was a failure. Furthermore, the Republican party got us into much of the mess Obama has had to deal with. Bush Jr trying to prove he was a big man, building a 'war' built on lies. Is Romney, Bush, no, but if we forget history we are doomed to repeat it. He wants our fingers in everyone's business, paying for wars we cannot afford & when we are downsizing our military. He wants to take away fundi from failing schools: how does that help?
Is Obama the answer? probably not. Romney definitely isn't. People need to educate themselves on ALL of the candidates, not just the mainstream ones.

"...the Republican party got us into much of the mess Obama has had to deal with."
In 2007 when things started to go bust, I believe the Democrats had control of both the House and the Senate.

The 109th Congress which was from January 3, 2005 to January 3, 2007 had a Senate that was 55% Republican. The House was 53% Republican.
Currently, 110th Congress, 50.3% Dem, 49.7% Rep - so almost totally split.

It sounds like you're criticizing Clint Eastwood because he looks old. I didn't watch the convention, but maybe that empty chair was a medaphor for the empty promises Obama made or as Eastwood said, "And when somebody does not do the job, we
got to let them go." An employee who isn't doing his job is the same as an empty chair.

I don't disagree with his message. I disagree with the delivery which in turn seems to have people thinking that his message is more profound than it really is.
I do like Clint. This isn't about his age. He just looked sickly...and well...crazy talking to an empty chair. In my eyes doing a skit on stage makes him less credible. Had someone else done the same thing, they would have been laughed off of the stage. Just like Jason Biggs tweeting in appropriate tweets about Ryan's wife and Bigg's wife acting totally inappropriate has me boycotting anything he participates in with Nickelodeon studios.

Kudos for taking a stand on Jason Biggs. Doesn't seem like Nickolodeon is taking it seriously and they even have directed people to Biggs's twitter account. *shudder*
If talking to an empty chair makes you crazy, then Piers Morgan is crazy and so is Lawrence O'Donnell and they are stars on their respective networks. So, time to write to CNN and MSNBC and tell them to get those crazy dudes off the air.

The RNC was just bad this year. I couldn't relate to any of them, and to me I just don't think these candidates get it.
Yes, Clint Eastwood couldn't be taken seriously. Talking to a chair? What was that all about? This is the actor that I used to love growing up. He was the inspiration for X-Men's Wolverine. What happened to him?
This convention did not resonate with me.

Yeah, well somehow I don't think 8 minutes of comedy by Jon Stewart is the same as actually watching the RNC and making up your own mind. I never, or nearly never, agree with Stewart, but I think he's often funny. I know he's a comedian, however, and making fun of people is part of his job. I don't look to him for advice on how to vote, that would be clownish.
I refer you to my response to you on the other discussion, about the Democrat who kicked and threw a chair he called Clint Eastwood. Now, that's a crazy dude for you. I mean, Clint didn't try to actually physically hurt the chair, just talk to it.

Where did I say I was using on this opinion to vote? I just said explained how I felt about the RNC more eloquently than I could. Whenever the Dems go at it you know he will be making fun of them too. Although by trade he is a comedian, he does tell legit news stories and makes them interesting by adding in the humor. I had read a few years ago that a pretty high percentage of people only get news cooperage via Jon Stewart. I don't know if that still holds true or not.
Yes, crazy people are every where. I wouldn't expect much less from someone running a labor union. That would be like acting shocked hazing still occurs in the military.

No, I didn't watch the RNC, but I did watch this speech. Once the RNC decided on Romney, I didn't need to watch. I already know my views do not align with his.
I'm not really sure what your point is regarding him attending the DNC.
