How many of u have not seen a doctor due to the simple fact that cannot afford to? I'm not ashamed to admit it but I'm not sick or anything and some may even ask, why would someone see a dr. if ur not ill? Did u know ur bkey can attack itself? It's true and that's why I'm going to get a well woman check up. And that's tomarrow. I am a little scared of what they will find and of what they won't find.
In the past, I have only seen a dr only for prenatal purposes now before this month I didn't have the extra money to see a dr for any reason. Now that I'm 31 I want to really understand a lot of things about my body. That way if I have cancer somewhere I can detect it early and possibly fix it. I'm going to get my head examined and my heart looked at among other thing.
I don't think I told anyone here but for many years since I was a little girl I have been having headaches but over the years I have ignored them and took double the over the counter prescription just to get thru my days.
And sometimes my heart feels like invisible hands are gripping my heart and squeezing a little. During that moment my heart skips a beat but I don't feel any numbing or dizziness of any kind and those are things I want to speak to my dr about. It scares me a lot when I think about what if I'm too late? I mean I want to be able to see my daughters grow up and enjoy life. How could I do that...being underground?maybe I'm just making a big deal out Of nothing because im paranoid!?
And it's also bcuz I want to loose about 150lbs. I want to start small like loading 10 and then after that I wanna loose ten more but I want to do that under dr orders.
I have made a few changes but eating more whole grain and riding my bike to work. The only thing I find soooo hard to do is giving up my dr pepper and bread and candy but I do eat better. Like when I eat a slice of cake I double my raw veggies. And I drink more water. In the morning I eat yogert and no coffee. When I start feeling hungry around ten am I pop chewing gum in my mouth till lunchtime. and that works for me!
I read about how China's healthcare system is and I wouldn't mind moving there just for that! Do u like how ur healthcare system is? Some jobs like mine doesn't offer any benefits like dental vision or medical insurence and thanks to what I got I can get that now!
Anywho...I don't want to bore ;) anyone with looonnng reads so to end this I will say this:take care of urslelf because ur life is worth something whether u think it is or not. :) happy mylotting and good night!

I admit that I have not been to the doctor in quite some time, and it was mostly because I could not afford to go to the doctor. For quite some time, I did not have any insurance for me to go for a doctors' visit, and when I did have insurance, it was always a scramble to find a doctor. I didn't have a car, and all of the doctors in that carriers network were very far away. In fact, the last time I actually saw a doctor was when I had to go to the hospital in 2010 for an eye infection, which I learned was the side effect of me having a bad case of the flu. Right now, I would like to be able to go to the doctor, which I will set myself up for an appointment as soon as I receive insurance, or money to go. The past two years have been very stressful, to the point where my health has been greatly affected, and I would like to get myself together.

I didn't lose the eye, it was fine. Whatever I had, I was so sick that the pink eye was a side effect. As for insurance coverage, because I was unemployed, and unemployment had cut me off, I had no money, and the politics here are dictating medical coverage for people who cannot afford it on their own.

Those ppl seriously need to vamp up their healthcare Problem. I don't have insurance either thru my job but I just recently got accepted thru Medicaid and no I'm not proud of the fact that I have no other choice but to have government help. I used to thinks hat since I work for a government I would get be benifits but I don't.

Up until I was injured in a car accident a month and a half ago, I have to admit that I'd not seen a doctor since my son was born in 2006. The reason that I hadn't seen a doctor in so long is because of the fact that I don't have health insurance. The reason that I don't have health insurance is because of the fact that it would be so expensive for us to carry on our family. It is my hope that when all of the new healthcare laws go fully into effect that we will actually be able to get affordable insurance for our family.

The strange symptoms you mentioned are eerily similar to ones I've had throughout my life. lol, strange.
Anyway, I've been in a similar situation. I recently got healthcare through something Obama did that made it so adult children can stay on parent's insurance until age 27, but for over four years I did not have insurance nor the money to pay out of pocket. Of course, as a young healthy person it should not have been a problem for me, but my body randomly started freaking out. I lost over 80 pounds in six months without even trying (I was a bit overweight before, but well underweight after this), I was having severe allergic reactions when nothing around me had changed (soap, laundry detergent, foods, nearby plants, pets, cleaning products, etc), and I was having short "absent seizures"... on top of the headaches and heart flutters I've had all my life.
It all came back to the rapid weight loss, that I had unknowingly caused by changing simple habits (no car, walked to work or from bus stop to bus stop, and my new roommate had kids I would regularly run around with outside, etc).
Bottom line, I had to struggle through this process and only later made a friend who was a doctor and checked me out for free, put me on a high-fat and high-protein diet, and did allergy test to see if it was caused by anything external (most likely was some fat-soluable toxin that was mass released when I lost weight so quick)... but without happening to make friends with him, or if he was not so nice to a new friend, this could have all turned out much, much worse... This is why everyone needs access to health insurance, doctors, and preventative care. That strange mole, or little lump, or annoying sharp pain are small signs you need to talk to your doctor about... otherwise you may find out later that that little sign was the beginning of a life threatening illness that could have been prevented or cured in those early stages.
