Will today's technology have a negative impact on today's actors? Since recent movies dominated the box office because of their breathtaking CGI effects, this means that people are watching them because of the special effects the movie has to offer not because of it's cast. I know I watched Avatar because of James Cameron but what made me enjoy it so much was the superb effects used in the film, it made me want to go to pandora someday.

A very interesting question, and one that I cannot answer with any real certainty.
I suspect that it depends on the actor or actress in question and how versatile that person is. All the great animated films have still required actors to produce the voices. I realise that this is not absolutely necessary because a person can emulate a voice without the need of acting ability, but famous actors and actresses have contributed to many of the great animated characters.
I suppose a lot may also depend on the type of acting role that a person usually plays. For example, there would be far less demand for a Shakespearean actor.

No, i don't think it would have negative impact on actors. CGI offers new experiences in watching movies, but still the actor have to give a believable acting skill, because no matter how good the CGI is, if the actors can't act, then no one will watch the movie.
