Often the two phenomena of enjoying a thing and being addicted to are not differentiated clearly resulting into a confusion that a person who merely enjoys is taken as an addict. Enjoyment is when a person finds some matter interesting and gets involved in the matter. Addiction is when the person longs for a thing and looks for it desperately and involves in it. Thus, the principal difference between the two lies in longing of the person. Another difference is in the psyche of the person if the thing is missed by the person.
Enjoying a thing may be beneficial or harmful to a person, but addiction is surely harmful as it makes the person crazy and suffer mentally if he/she does not get the thing. Enjoyment of a thing may harm but it provides benefit to the person of making him/her happy. This is achieved through addiction too.
When a thing is missed, the person who just enjoys does not suffer but an addict surely suffers. What do you think on this?
