"How green are you you?" was the title of teh survey that a student asked me answer. At first I was thinking, it was something else but when I continued reaidng it was about our environment. Well, in general I think I am so green. I try to recycle as much as I can, I ride a bicycle when I wasn;t pregnant yet and I use acloth bag when going to the grocer. But when I was younger, I really didn't care at all. I was so busy enjoying life but every time I experience flood, I always remember if only i didn't throw too much trash I could have not seen a lot of litter on th streets. I think my being green activities are not enough. How about you? What do you do to save the environment? Do you recycle? Separating plastics, metals, tin cans and papers? Do you use plastic bags for groceries and then just trash it after use? Are there any other ways to be green or to save the earth from being loaded with garbage and from losing all the natural resources we have?

I am a green person too. AT home, we have a trashbin for recyclable and another for biodegradable trash. We also have separate trash bin for papers. In my parents house, they have a compost for biodegradable wastes. Thus, the surrounding soil is very fertile, because the fruit trees are all with fruits now. And our backyard lawn is being fertilized by the wastes of those cockfighting chickens that are there.

That is so good. It's not just you who is green but your whole family. I hope you could extend your idea to your neighbors. It is a heroic act because you'll have to face people who don't have time and with lots of reasons but at least you made them realize we need to help each other save the earth.

Well, i think it is an advantage that we have a big backyard at my parents' home. Thus, we have a compost in the farthest part, without being bothered if it smells.

I bring reusable/cloth bags whenever i go to grocery. I buy items in bottles instead of pouch or packs at least the bottles can be recycled and I keep all the plastic bags that we still have instead of throwing it away.

That's a good idea. Buy items in bottles if there are any instead of those pouches. True. Well, I'm gaining a lot of ideas on how to be greener. Thanks!

we collect paper, bottles and jars for recycling, and composte our food scraps. we also bring our own bags for groceries. we live in a city where you are only allowed to put out one garbage bag per week out so we have to be pretty careful. many stores around here also charge 5 cents per plastic bag, so that is why we take our own bags with us.

Wow that is super green. Your city is very strict. They also charge us for a plastic bag but not all stores follow this. One plastic bag of garbage a week??? I think, our household still have to do a lot of recycling. We don't composte here, I'll try to do that.

It's good to know that there are a lot of people now who are caring for our environment, like you friend. In my case, I make it a point not to litter anywhere, whether its just a piece of candy wrapper or plastic. I always set aside the plastic bags in our house so that we can used it again anytime. Yeah, we do practice recycling at home and segregation as well. My father usually sells the collected plastic bottles and tin cans to the junk shop. I really believe that there's money in the trash. At the same time, we can also help save our environment. :)

I happy to know that it's not only you but also the whole family. You are right, there is money in junks. Back at home, my mom and aunt segregates and sells those that can still be sold. If not they composte it. We have a backyard.

Well, I think in some aspect I am green. After I wash my clothes or the cooking wares or the dinner wares, I reserve the water used in the big burrel and use the waste water to clean the closestool. We try to save the electricity used at home. We go to work by bus but not driving a car.

Indeed you are green. It is not only recycling the garbage that we have to do something about but also saving the other sources of life. The saving and reusing you do with wtaer is good enough. I also do the same with the water I used when I was washing clothes, I save and use it to clean our bathroom, though I don't do this all the time. Now, I have to do this all the time. Water saved, is a penny saved.

Good to know, we do whatever way we can do to save the earth. The earth is not asking much only little things that we can. We don't have to be wealthy also to influence others. Carry on and try to influence others of your good act. I will try to do the same.

I guess I'm also green. LOL. We seggregate our thrash here. If we don't, they won't collect them. Whenever I am given plastic bags, I reuse them a lot of times. I take care of them for future use. I don't just use and thrash them. For me, they are so helpful. Yes, we have to discipline ourselves to be more environment-friendly. We cause all pollutions here in earth. It's our responsibility to take care of it, for us and for the future generations. Happy mylotting.

Nice survey, I am very green like you only. I always carry a cloth bag whenever I go to grocer's shop and never take a polybag from the shop either. I used to do cycling a lot whenever I used to go anywhere in my old city where I was living earlier but it is not possible in my big city so have to burn fuel but rest I take very much care that earth should not be polluted. I also encourage tree plantations here nearby our society and also encourage others not to use poly bags and also to separate the things for recycling. This is all a very meager support from my side to our earth.

Thank you so much for that love of the environment. Well, as long as there is one or two people doing so, there is hope that the world will be back to it's beautiful green environment. Carry on and influence others. I will try to do the same.

Wow. I think that is a very good survey. :) And glad to hear that you are so green. Honestly speaking, I'm not really green. I can say that I'm yellow-green??!! Haha. But I'm always trying to be one (green). I've tried to recycle once but it didn't work. I think I'm too lazy to do that. I hope I won't be lazy anymore after reading this discussion. But I try to save energy and water. :D Well I hope I can contribute something to make my surroundings greener. :) I SHOULD CARE!!!

Not bad, at least you have a realization that you should be part of saving energy. That's a good start. It's not magic to become green so don't be in a hurry, just build that concern for the environment and later on you'll realize you are unconsciously doing it. Try again. It feels good you know. I believe you have a caring heart.
