For a while now I've been hating my job and it makes me miserable. I've been wanting to wait to quit until I either had another job or wait until my boyfriend comes back to visit before he leaves for Korea. He'll be here in about 2 and a half weeks and today I finally decided I'd put in my 2 weeks.
I had a job interview at Dillard's yesterday, so I just have to hear back from them. It would be perfect if I could get hired there but if not, I'll just wait to go job hunting until after my boyfriend has left and gets shipped to Korea. Although I would rather have found another job before quitting my current one, I felt I made the right decision. I'll still work there for about a week and a half more and so I'll have more money saved for when my boyfriend comes down and we can do stuff. Work was really starting to stress me out and I feel a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Over the summer I haven't been using the money I've been making at work so I have quite a bit saved up. I'll be able to use some of this money when my boyfriend comes down and the rest should last me a while. I'm glad I put my two weeks in and got out of that toxic workplace. I feel free at last and I'm excited to get a new job.

Congratulations to you then! I do understand how you feel, and I definitely understand the feeling of liberation after feeling trapped in a job you just didn't love. I felt a bit liberated when I decided to decrease my hours. I am still thinking of applying to a few places and just quitting my job or keeping it but with the option of quitting it eventually, I'm just not sure yet.
Good Luck to you on your job hunt and have a great time with your BF before he ships out.

Thank you :) I already feel less stressed after putting in my 2 weeks. I wish I had another job before quitting but oh well and I'm sure something will come up. In the meantime, I'll focus on school and enjoy the time with my boyfriend before he has to leave again.

If nothing else you may be able to find something you can do seasonally. It is about the Christmas season and stores like Toys R Us hire for seasonal work. Sometimes they keep you on if you prove you know your stuff and are willing to work hard. You may be able to do Salvation Army as well, I do believe they pay them a penace atleast. Anything that gets you in the door somewhere...

Yeah, a lot of places will be looking for seasonal employees and if I don't have a job I'll just go around places and apply. That's how I got the job I just resigned from. They hired me as a seasonal employee and ended up keeping me.

I've always been on the lookout for 'the next best job' for me. So, I'm always not contented with what I have, and I tend to always look for what's best for me. I know that you've gone through some terrible time at VS, so maybe it is time for you to move on.
I haven't gotten to all of your newer discussions, so I don't know: have you got a new job already?

VS has been pretty bad to it's employees and I'm just at the point where I'm sick and tired of it. I've had some interviews, one at Macy's and one at Dillard's. Macy's offered me a job on the spot and it would only about one or two shifts per week and I'd be making minimum wage plus commission. I ended up turning it down and then I had an interview with Dillard's. My friend works there and makes 11 something an hour plus bonuses for selling. I still haven't heard back yet though.
If I don't hear back from them, I'll just wait until after my boyfriend leaves to start job hunting again. I don't want to work while he's here because I want to be able to spend as much time as possible with him before he leaves for Korea. Work can definitely wait for me and hopefully I'll find something better soon :)

Yes, I felt that I had to quit because it was getting to the point where i was really stressed and unhappy. It would've been better to have a new job lined up but oh well. Hopefully things work out with the interview I had yesterday, I'll keep posting more

At the moment I don't have a new job. I had an interview yesterday and I'm hoping to get a call back from them soon. So right now, I'm still working at the old job until my 2 weeks is up and I no longer work there
