The jakarta government plan to provide free internet connection by Wifi in earlier September 2012 in several main road of Jakarta..
Fauzi Bowo said that the access of internet can be used when we are travelling Sudirman, Mh Thamrin, S parman until MT Haryono street..
Wow..it is good news..
Foke said that Jakarta governor didn`t spend money for this planning..The wifi application is compesation from the third party when prividing fiber optic line in that road..
Foke said that not only people which use Transjakarta can feel the free internet connection but The governor had provided too wifi connection in Monas area, Menteng Park, Harmoni Busway station, Ayodya Park, Balaikota DKI area...
But do you think it is related the Jakarta governor election??
Why the good news is same with the second round of Jakarta governor election??
what`s up from the good ideas and programmes??
Don`t you feel it is way from the current governor for getting some popularity in some middle class people in jakarta??
i want to get your opinion again my friend...Thanks

That a good thing, to provide free internet access in a public area. But why this action come very close to 2nd leg election in jakarta?
I think it is very clear beside this good news there must be something to expect from the election result.
Just wondering where is all the money come from to make this programs.

I dont think it is neccesary giving free wifi as part of campaign, people needs better public transportation, public health service, no traffic jam, etc. Free wifi isnt too important, people who owns gadget usually subscribe to internet package already and internet subscription isnt expensive anyway you can pay daily service, weekly service or monthly service. I only pay IDR 50,000 ($5) for my monthly internet service and i can access it anytime anywhere I want. and as I know there are other provider offers cheaper price than my mobile internet service. I think free wifi project is really a waste of money. They should pay attention more on public transportation and how to decrease traffic jam in jakarta.

Why dont he continues the Monorail project instead of wasting money for something that is not important like this? So he thinks he can get more support from the middle class citizens huh, but he forgot something that people are smart they know which one is a genuine leader which one is arrogant leader, we know which category foke is.

you are proberly right that the government are doing this just to look good with the people and get re-elected. I dont know a lot about politicions in other countries but i think that they are all the same and this sort of tactic is what my countries government would try also.

not really the government we currently have in a more interested in the rich rather that the poor so there is a lot of job losses in my country because the government are cutting the services. There really not helping matters at all

Well, sometimes ruling parties' leaders take populist measures for their constituents around the elections. It happens in India also. And yes, getting more votes is the main objective for some measures.
