I wonder if that's a conspiration from the producers to make us women watch the show but I noticed this: all the tv shows that I watched had their hottie:
criminal minds-my latest love when it comes to tv shows-derek morgan
supernatural-dean
the vampire diaries-damon
dr house- I know it might sound silly...but I really find dr house sexy :))
drop dead diva-grayson kent
And the list could continue

The flip side is true for us guys watching because of the hot girls. I know the reason I started watching Lost was because of the beach scene with Evangeline Lily(Kate) in her underwear that was shown in the trailer before the series ever started and then I really liked the show and was glad I was watching it. I watch Nikita mainly because of Lyndsy Fonseca(Alex); I also like Maggie Q(Nikita) but Lyndsy was the reason I started watching it. There are many other shows that fit the bill for me for similar reasons.

I agree that shows do have a hot person for many people. Television shows need to have an audience to keep the show on the air, as commercials help sell many shows. Its hard to watch some shows now because of the number of commercials airing, specially network television.

It is funny how shows have always had attractive actors/actresses, but it seems as if they look for a very attractive actor and do not dumb them down as much. Don Flack from CSI - NY he is very attractive and Eddie Cahill is great on the show. I think that Derek is great on Criminal Minds but Dr Reid has always been my favourite, maybe the same reason I like Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory. Thomas Gibson portrays the tough Hotchner but I do miss his smile, he is great in comedy as he showed in his role as Greg in Dharma and Greg, it's a pity the subject matter is so delicate that they can't allow his comedic flare to shine. I will admit that I do miss Warrick from CSI, it is a pity the show is not a soap or supernatural show they could always bring him back.

Of course each show has a have its hottie! If it didn`t, we wouldn`t watch it. I Love Derek Morgan but I also have a motherly sort of love for Dr. Reid

i agree each tv show has hot stuff, here too in hindi tv serials, exposure is become more and more, earlier we could watch serials with kids, but no more now, because of bold scenes lol.

Yeah, I think it's mandatory. ; ) I would agree with all of your choices. Damon is my absolute favorite on Vampire Diaries, and I too prefer Dean over Sam on Supernatural. It seems like comedies don't seem to have to have handsome guys (see Big Bang Theory), but every drama or dramedy does!

Those beautiful and attractive men and women makes the show more marketable or it has something to do with marketing strategies. Rating game it is. Also I really love this new sitcom - 2 broke girls, I like Max there, not only her looks but the way she delivers her lines. I just love it. Sookie in True Blood is one.
Happy viewing. Thanks
