ethnocentrism

lets talk about the advantages and disadvantages of ethnocentrism? its in our all our societies but sometimes we ignore it.

This semester I actually have 3 classes that all take about cultures: Sociology, Multicultural psychology, and cultural health care. In some of my classes we've already talked about ethnocentrism and I think it's something that everybody does. I think it's a natural tendency to automatically think of your country and use your country's standards to judge a foreign country's standards. Just because we do this doesn't mean it's the right thing to do and we should try to keep an open mind when we think about other peoples' cultures and way of life.
