Is this a conformation that Obama didn't have the knowledge necessary to be President when he ran in 2008?

I'm not a fan of Obama but I don't think either of your questions are really fair. At this point in time are these questions even relevant? Right now is he a better candidate for the job than Romney? Does he have a better plan for the country than Romney? That's the bottom line. The news report you linked to just states that he and the democratic party see that the problem is deeper than their original assessment. Duh. That to me is an unavoidable fall back position since they believe they are right. As politicians I wouldn't expect less of them. Could the Republican's have done better during the past four years? I don't know for sure. I do believe though that the Republican's would have authored the same sort of bailout package the Democratic party is credited with if they were in power. After that their respective approaches would have diverged. I do think a more conservative approach to everything else would have meant that the economy would be marginally stronger than it is. That is just a personal opinion. I think Obama is full of a lot of hot air. I think that of most politicians though.

Unfair to whom, Obama or the people who elected him in 2008? The link I posted did more than say the problem was worse than believed. It also said the Reagan had a similar problem and got in turned around in his first term.
My criticism is maybe not so much towards Obama but those who voted for him.

Unfair to Obama. The republicans would have done a similar bailout package with the initial crisis. Reagan when he started faced some similar economic numbers but he didn't have to face anything like the crisis in the banking sector. He didn't have to deal with huge corporations on the verge of going belly up. I think Reagan was a great president. His record speaks for itself. I just don't think the situations were as similar as some like to argue. After the initial crisis though I don't think Obama got it done. I don't think whether he was ready to be president during his original drive for the white house is relevant. Right now he's asking for another four years not based on results but based on belief. He believes that his policies and leadership will prevail in the long run. Question is do enough Americans believe. I don't, but I'm Canadian so my vote doesn't count. I just get to stand on the sidelines and lob in opinion hand grenades.

you linked to the dncs platform. I am guessing that is not what you were going for. That being said, and not knowing what you are referring to, I would say that no he was not ready and I don't believe he is anymore ready now. He is too busy pushing his agenda and not doing the will of the people. He has no control over his own party, his own senate, etc. Foreign affairs are a complete mess. Our economy is slowly growing simply because it has to. When you hit rock bottom there is no place to go but up.
